Of all the potential photographers on Bark to take my family’s portraits, John was the only one who actually contacted me and followed through.
I have absolutely no regrets!
John was amazingly efficient and is gifted at getting the desired expressions using his great sense of humour. He could engage the attention of babies and toddlers, and even manage to get authentic smiles from moody teenagers!
The photos turned out really great and we look forward to getting the art versions of our favourite photos - yet another of John’s specialties. His website has some excellent examples of the kind of art he is capable of producing. He is a true artist.
John’s service is very reasonably priced, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone who needs photography services. If I ever have need for a professional photographer in the future, I would definitely hire John Laham Photography again.

Dear Ivy, What a wonderful review you have written. I am blessed to have a career I love, and testimonies like yours make it all worthwhile to know that the images created will be cherished for many years to come. I definitely had a lot of fun especially when I get total control of a fast moving 2yrs old... I call this an achievement, so funny when he stayed in his pose even when the shoot was finished, he was waiting for further instruction from me to move hahaha. John is always respectful and open to the clients wants/needs.
Johns work as a photographer is professional, beautiful and of a high standard. It's clear he loves it and John is fun to watch while at work - he is so enthusiastic and passionate!
I consider my money well spent.
Finally it's worth noting, I was significantly late for our appointment causing John to be late for his next appointment. However John did not complain one time or let it affect the job in any way. Excellent customer service! Highly recommend!

John Laham was our wedding photographer in January 2022, attending our wedding ceremony, photos in the bushland and on the beach in northern Sydney, then our reception. John has an innate ability to put people at ease and make them laugh, and caught some superb images of the wedding party and guests. The secret to a great photograph is the one that has no language barrier and that triggers raw emotions from the viewer.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I like to believe that all questions are addressed and answered prior to taking on any new project. So when you start one, the client is at ease and have full confidence in my abilities.
What do you love most about your job?
Everything, I love documenting life in any event. My passion towards my craft have never died down, always look forward to the next one.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I always wanted to become a painter like Rembrandt or Monet. But a famous painter died when I was 16yrs, the media announced that all his paintings have quadrupled in price. So my young brain interpreted this as 'To make money from paintings you have to die first.' So I had to find a plan B, and photography has been my plan B since.
