Finally, someone who listens to me and does not judge me. Someone who treats me with respect and kindness. And someone who tells it like it is, constructively and with empathy.

Clark made me feel comfortable and trusting of him. He seems to know what's going on before I say it sometimes. There is no messing about and Clark encourages true honesty and saying whatever you need to get out, with no judgement and he does not miss a beat no matter what comes out. I felt safe heard and cared for.

Clark is an amazing therapist who is professional and trustworthy. He has an incredible ability to cut right to the heart of an issue and make difficult things seem simple.

Q&As

I love the fact that my life experience, my training and my experience, has put me in the privileged position to be able to assist people realise the best versions of themselves, and live their lives accordingly.

Staring my own business was very important to me as it gave me the freedom to conduct my therapy, in my own unique way, unbound by rules, regulations, procedures or any other limitations placed on me by big companies, organisations, or government departments. Each person is an individual, with a unique set of circumstances. This is something that should never be standardised.

It may sound like a cliche, but I am truly invested in my therapy sessions and the outcomes for my clients. And as mentioned in the other sections, I am not bound by standardised formats of treatment. I base some of my therapies, dependant on circumstances, on mindfulness practice. I always treat my clients with unconditional positive regard, authenticity and compassion. And I will adapt my style of treatment you your unique circumstances. I am also introducing "Walk and Talk" sessions. There are benefits from this therapy, which I will be happy to discuss with you, should you be interested.

Since the covid pandemic, remote sessions have become more popular and as a result, I do offer remote sessions, however, I would still prefer any initial sessions to be face to face. Having said that, if that is impossible, the sessions can all be done remotely.

The practice follows all government guidelines, such as social distancing, and we maintain standards of cleanliness and cleaning of surfaces used by patients to the practice and of course remain vigilant of patient and practitioner health.

Services

In my counselling practice, I adhere to the 3 basic principles of humanistic therapy. Unconditional positive regard for the client, Authenticity and Empathy. My approach is eclectic, as many counsellors are, however, I use mindfulness practice in my treatment. I adapt my approach, dependant on the presenting issues, to determine the most suitable course of action.
Counselling is typically short term, but not always, while psychotherapy is generally a longer-term treatment.
I am also introducing, "Walk and Talk" style of therapy. The therapy then takes place outdoors, typically in a park or garden, or even nature if this can be arranged. It has the advantage of being out of the consulting room, providing a healthy level of mild physical activity and can be more comfortable for certain people. My consulting room in Subiaco is quite close to Kings Park and there is a small garden area closeby.
