Although we have dined there before and found the food to be good, we were disappointed today as we were on our way home after a 14 km bush walk at Cox Scrub that there were not open for meals until 5. 30pm, although there front door was open at 5pm which was there advertised opening time. So we left Hahndorf and headed home. Businesses should open there door unless there are prepared to accept customers at advertised opening times. More...

A very ordinary experience. When we arrived we were pointed to where our table was with no knowledge of where the menu was and were left waiting for 15 minutes before any service. As we ordered a pizza to share between 2 , it was suggested that we also order some rosemary potatoes as a side . The potatoes didn’t turn up until we were nearly finished the pizza but were soft and bland which I pointed out to the owner but his response was “ we cannot do anything” and he clearly couldn’t care less. We had a fantastic dining experience at Gepettos tonight. The restaurant was warm and the staff were attentive and welcoming. But now let's get to the food. I ordered the lamb shanks and mash which was mouthwatering and just fell off the bone. My husband was equally as happy with his porcini mushroom risotto. Finished off with a great coffee.
