How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?
Food is medicine. What you eat programs your body with messages of health or illness. Increasingly, evidence shows us that food is the most powerful "drug" we have not just to prevent, but also treat, cure and reverse most chronic disease.
There is a strong link between the food you eat and your mood. The health of your gut has a direct impact on your mental health, as well as your physical health. What you eat, your ability to manage stress and the toxins in your environment all play an important role.
DNA testing has also allowed us to personalise nutrition as we are all biologically unique. That's why a particular 'diet' may work for one individual and not another. Optimise your health by eating the right food for you. Test, don't guess.
What do you love most about your job?
I love working with people, supporting them and helping them uncover the root cause of their problems. The human body has an immense capacity to heal if we allow it. Often excess weight, hormone imbalances and a compromised immune system are linked to high stress, an unhealthy gut or a hidden parasite.
When I assist a client in identifying simple dietary and lifestyle changes that have a huge impact on their health and happiness, it's the best feeling in the world.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I value my freedom, independence and ability to think outside the box.
