I find talking with Amber easy, comfortable and energising. When I step out of her room though, I realise the immense work we’ve done together – or that she’s helped me to do – to locate myself in time, in my body, and in my life in all its relationships, priorities and complexities. Opening up this reflective space helps me to imagine new possibilities for the future and create viable/nurturing pathways to get there. More...

Q&As

I love that I get to think about thinking and listen and learn from people's stories - it is a genuine honour.

I love the integrated approach in this work and the use of diverse modalities individualised for each client. I have worked with trauma informed therapy, ACT, narrative practice, existential and gestalt approaches as well as solution and strengths focus for shorter term counselling. I particularly enjoy incorporating somatic, breathwork, art and eco therapy where appropriate. Collaborating to create creative pathways for clients is also hugely inspiring and reaching clients therapy and life goals. I would describe my integrative, bespoke approach as mostly eclectic as one size does not fit all.

As a devotee of yogic wisdom I love that my work sometimes incorporates practical and philosophical ideas from the hatha yoga traditions.

As well as being a therapist I love getting amongst entrepreneurial business endeavours and in the past I had businesses in accommodation, organic food, business therapy and specialist HR.

My interest in psychotherapy dates back to my adolescence and through my own lived experience following a suicide death in my family in 2017 I reoriented my career to the requisite study to be able to work as a psychotherapist and counsellor .

As for my working in my own business, I enjoy being able to directly incorporate feedback or changes into my business if required without having to get permission. I enjoy being able to design my life around my business and not the other way around.

In psychotherapy and counselling I use multiple modalities integratively. I have accumulated both counselling and consulting skills, knowledge and experience in a variety of roles over 10 years. I have consulted to employees, business owners and was engaged as a Business Therapist for 7 years inside a dynamic ethnic Australian family business dealing with complex owner, employee and customer concerns.

Through my own therapeutic experiences I have gone on to appreciate how significant listening, enquiry and education as a practical support to others is a way to contribute to fulfilling lives.

I have after hours availability.

Client testimonial:

I provide my services online via a Zoom video link platform and you will receive a link to click on. I have an online calendar for you to select appointment spaces and payment is required in advance of the session. My experience through Covid has shown that online sessions easily lend themselves to experiential work like art therapy or even somatic work. I work from my office or my home office, both private spaces...except for my dog who likes to accompany me sometimes if I am home .
