Lots of places to eat and sit while you wait. Not much once you get to the gate areas, but a few things .. why is there never enough seating at the gates to accommodate everyone getting on the plane, and why aren't the airlines boarding in groups yet?

Parking is insanely expensive. If you want to meet someone from an international flight, expect to fork out at least $30. Not too big airport, is incredible that a big city like this doesn’t have metro or tram line to the airport, instead a sky city bus ticket is required which is quite expensive or using any other sort of private transport like Uber, Didi, and so on.

Domestic terminal Rubbish design. Well done for trying to be smart. You congregate all passengers at the food court area, arrivals have to pass through, departures have to pass through, and there are queues to food outlets, cannot find space to sit to eat, furthermore, one hour before departure the gate numbers are not announced or listed, you end up in the same silly space! Well done, Melbourne Airport to your SMART design, maybe you put efficiency in favour of the landlord and passenger experience not at the top of your list. Concerning the food and drink place called Middle Ground at T2. Waiting overly long at the counter waiting to be served as the staff went about doing odd jobs. After emptying the bin and putting a clean bag in. The staff member came over to serve us. When I pointed out that she hadn’t washed her hands after touching a dirty bin, she informed me that she would wash her hands ‘after’. I declined to be served and watched as she went on to take someone else’s order, all without stopping to wash her hands. Poor hygiene, poor infection control and poor work practices.
