What do you love most about your job?
As a client-facing partner at Blue Harbour Financial Partners, I equally enjoy being actively engaged with my clients as well as working with the team on evolving and growing our business. Pre-advice, my background lies in corporate project management and health counselling. I have always been passionate about helping people live better lives.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I entered the financial services industry in 2008 while working on a risk insurance project for an international college in Sydney, when I got introduced to the idea of transitioning into financial advice. At that time, the world was batting the Global Financial Crisis and most clients I dealt with were scared of investing but also scared of not making the ends meet when dealing with adversity or retirement. I then realised that anxiety about finances was one of the biggest obstacles people saw on the way to living the life they wanted. Today, it is as true as it was then and I am honoured to be in the position to assist clients through the rough waters of the unknown to a better future.

I believe I can offer real value to clients who seek a caring, experienced advisor with a wide range of expertise who is up-to-date with the current legislative developments. This career has put me on a learning path, not only academically but professionally and personally. I am a Certified Financial Planner® and hold a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and a Bachelors Degree in Law (Hons). I continue to learn from my clients and my colleagues every single day. Over the past 12 years, I have worked in different areas of advice, including self-managed and small APRA super funds, managed accounts, margin lending, finance broking, risk insurance, financial separation and estate planning, business succession, direct equities and holistic advice. I am actively involved in the financial planning community as an advocate for a financial advice profession through my role on Brisbane Financial Planning Association (FPA) committee.

Yes, I conduct meetings with remote clients via Zoom/Teams videoconference or over the phone - depending on the client's preference.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We conducted most of our client meetings via Zoom/phone in 2020 - however, have now gone back to seeing clients face-to-face while adhering to COVID-19 checklist requirements.
