What’s your interior design process?
BSID follows a proven phased process for every design project we undertake. From design concept and design development right through to helping you select trades and making purchases on your behalf. Our process includes developing mood boards and sample boards, detailed schedules and 2D and 3D CAD rendering. We can do as much or as little as you would like us to.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
BSID catere for all interior design styles. We have our favourites of course, but it's your home and so your decision. Each design is as individual as you are.
What do you love most about your job?
Interior design is my passion and so it's wonderful to have a job that really doesn't feel like one. And of course, being a genuine people person, getting to know my clients and bringing them along on the design journey is a pleasure. Seeing the genuine happiness that a successful project brings to my clients, gives me a lot of satisfaction.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I had been designing and decorating for friends and family as a hobby for years as well as working in a fast-paced corporate job. Someone mentioned that I had the talent to become a professional designer and the rest is history (well actually, not really - getting where I am involved lots of formal study and hard work, but it's been worth it).

BSID's aim is to provide the highest standard of service and design that is not only beautiful, but functional too. I will listen and learn about your vision, likes and dislikes to make sure that the end result exceeds your expectations.
BSID is a boutique business owned and operated by me. That gives me the ability to only take a set number of projects at the same time, to make sure that every client gets the dedicated and personalised service they deserve.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
BSID can provide online/remote services if required. My preference it to meet my clients personally and to get a feel for the space being designed, however, I understand that this isn't always possible. Be prepared to take lots of photos, videos and measurements to send to me - the more information I have the better the result will be.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I am fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and use hand sanitiser before I enter a clients' home. If I am unwell, or my client is unwell, I will request that any scheduled appointments be changed without charge.
Floor Plan Review (New Build)
Have you ever signed a building contract and then thought, oops - I should have added a data point here, a larger window there, or perhaps a door over here? This service is best conducted before you sign that binding building contract to make sure that these costly mistakes don’t happen to you. It may also save you thousands in variation fees during the build. It includes a review of spatial planning (room layouts), electrical plans, and technical drawings. A written report with recommendations for your consideration is provided.
Pre-start Support (New Build)
Janine will attend pre-start meetings and/or shop with you to assist in the challenging (and often daunting) prospect of selecting fixtures, fittings, and appliances for your new home.
This service will save you from unwanted and expensive variation fees, and help you to make your selections with confidence, eliminating unnecessary stress.
Colour Consultation
This package includes an individualised colour palette, paint, wallpaper, and other finish specifications for all interior surfaces – walls, ceiling, doors, trims, and mouldings. A written schedule is supplied documenting selections, application, and recommended paint types.
Interior Decorating and Styling
This includes a decorative redesign of a single room or the entirety of your house including flooring, colour selection, furniture, artwork and accessory choices. You will also receive a concept and sample board outlining the selections, and a comprehensive schedule detailing selection information, pricing and suppliers.
Full Design Service
From the initial concept, through to the finished project, Janine will undertake your entire project.
