Avoid this place if you care about your dog. Took my 2 year old dog in for his first grooming (he's long hair chihuahua cross) on a Friday. Expressly told them that if he is too stressed by the new experience to just leave him. I'd prefer him to be comfortable over being groomed. When I picked him up he seemed on edge. Lots of scooting, darting running and trying to get at his under carriage. Upon closer inspection at home they'd done a very close shave around his belly and groin, nicking him in several spots. Most notably and painfully on the scar tissue where he was desexed. By Saturday he wasn't able to walk very far and was becoming more uncomfortable as the day progresses and by Sunday he could only manage 1-2 steps before dropping into a hunch with crippling agony. Took him to the vets on Monday morning where we got a strong painkiller / anti-inflammatory oral medication and an anti-bacterial numbing cream. The vet bill was half again the price of the grooming, making this quite an expensive affair. I took my dog and the vet bill to the groomers straight after and was basically told "Well he was jumping around a lot. Sorry we can't help with your expenses but thanks for letting us know". We now have a very uncomfortable dog (with a very average looking haircut I might add) and a solid dent in the backpocket due to a poorly skilled and uncaring grooming business. Obviously they are more interested in getting your dog shaved as quick as possible, then on to the next one. Extremely disappointed and will make sure to let all the dog owners at know in the area aware of this. For reference in the photo, the darkness in the photos is due to scabbing and raw skin. His desexing scar was almost completely smooth and pink before the grooming visit. More...
