Angela was so helpful and supportive around my reactive dog. She was able to demonstrate and guide me with so many useful tools. I can already see the difference in my dog after only a few weeks of training. It was also nice to support a small local business owner who is so passionate having happy dogs and dog owners out in the community. I’m looking forward to doing so many more things with my dog where previously it was too stressful. Thank you Angela and thanks from Winnie and Muffin too 😊 More...

amazing and a quick result and looking forward to training my dog

The private session Angela had with us and Ruby gave us confidence and the basics to get started with training. Angela assessed our setup in the home and had suggestions to make our puppy more comfortable. She also followed up with a visit to show us how to clean Ruby’s ears. Next step is group training. I’m sure Ruby will enjoy meeting the other pups! More...

🙌 Angela is wonderful! We love the intimate settings for the classes, the small size, and truly appreciate her flexibility with each dog and owner. She takes a positive approach to training both the pups and their owners. One of ours is an anxious/fearful pup who has blossomed under Angela’s suggestions and guidance. Angela always helps us consider how our pup may be feeling so we can read her cues better. More...

Hi Amy, I really glad you found me too and that I can change your previous bad experiences you have encountered with group puppy classes into a more positive ones. Unfortunately this is not uncommon for the bigger training companies that often have overfilled classes. This means they have difficulty catering for each individual puppy. You and your puppies will get very personal information attention in my classes. Look forward to watching your puppies gain confidence and grow into good mannered members of the community. Angela

Thanks for your feedback Marie. You were already doing so many good things with Buddy as a dog owner of many previous dogs in the past. I really enjoyed working with you on Team Buddy and achieving higher levels of training with him. Angela

Dog Training

I enjoyed the group class. It was professional and personal. I wasn’t made feel stupid that I didn’t know a lot on how to train my puppy. The classes were small and a lot of time given to provide life skills to use at home and on outings with our puppy. I wish I knew about her when I had my last puppy 5 years back. She has really helped us a lot. More...

Everything was good. One thing it could make it better is organising pups by sizes and have a bigger place such as park

Thank you for taking the time to review my Group Classes. I appreciate your feedback. The class you participated in consisted of senior puppies, mini schnauzer, spoodle, cavoodle, toy poodle, Border Collie and your Golden. All a lot smaller than your boy. I can understand that you may have felt that your Golden Retriever puppy was a bit out of place in the group class. I could manage classes based on size of dog but that would mean that dogs do not have the opportunity to learn how to behave correctly around other dogs that are not similar to them. The classes are structured on their stage of life and learning and not size or breed. Also the purpose of the classes are to teach behaviours and one of the really important ones is to learn to settle around other dogs and people. It teaches you strategies to get them to be relaxed and have self control. I apologise if you weren’t aware of that at the time of enrolling. You did an amazing job by the way and other participants also noticed how the work you had been doing had changed your dog from the start of the program until the finish. I’m glad that overall you reviewed my group class as “good”. I am looking at a different venue to run some recall clinics as the requirement for those classes are very different. I will let you know about that. You are welcome to enroll in that class if you think you will find it useful?

Q&As

Dogs have always been part of my family. We currently share our lives with 3. I first discovered clicker training methods and positive reinforcement training when Bailey Bear one of our dogs was enrolled in puppy preschool 16.5 years ago. I attended formal obedience classes with Chloe and Bailey and completed advanced levels. My third dog Kody was the reason i wanted to explore dog training and dog behaviour further. Kody was a rescue. He had been locked in a bedroom 24/7 by his owner and had no proper socialisation.

When visiting Hospital Wards and Aged Care facilities in Canberra with two of her dogs as a Delta Therapy dog team. I was often asked, ‘how did you train your dogs to be so calm?’ This got me thinking and I then started my journey to become a qualified professional dog trainer. Both of the dogs had received no formal training other than basic good manners and good socialisation.

Since then Chloe grew her angel wings and we added Suzie Q Bear a new puppy this year. I am currently doing all the usual puppy socialisation and getting her ready for formal therapy dog training when she is old enough.

My mission is to help dog owners unleash their dog’s full ‘pawtential’ and teach their dogs to be good citizens in the community!

I’m really passionate about educating dogs and their owners. I have over 30 years experience and I have years of professional training and I’m an accredited trainer.

My aim is to teach lifestyle behaviours such as sitting for greetings and not jumping, walking on a loose lead and not pulling your arm off, settling on a dog bed and/or mat, wait, come when called, accept gentle handling and grooming.

I teach owners how to deal with normal puppy behaviors before they develop into more long term issues.

I will work on correcting existing behaviours and to assist dogs and their families to improve their family life together.

Giving advice and assisting with the process of setttling the new addition is what I’m good at. Whether it be a new puppy, a dog rescue, a rehome, a new human coming into the home.

To teach using no pain, force free methods to create a strong bond.

Services are in person. I provide group training and private training. Private training sessions at your home. Group classes currently held in Monash.

Training is held outside and safe distances are adhered to as per current advice given by state authorities. If necessary other precautions will be required such as hand sanitizer and masks

Doing private and group class training with the young puppies we have realised that there is a need for both. They are both really important and for different reasons.
