I've always considered Marika to be highly educated and competent from our very first meeting where I got to watch her teach someone else first, so I could tell in that moment that she was very passionate, dedicated and caring with the way she carries herself which made me feel all the more confident going forward with her and we've had a lot of fun and learning since. 😍

Marika and Ivan from Ozdog have been insanely helpful for my 2 naughty and problematic German shepherd puppies.

Not only they created personalised training for each one, but also showed enormous knowledge on how to take care of each one differently, what body languages to watch out for and personality differences I didn’t notice.

I would never get this special treatment from anyone else and especially outside hours of care and kindness shown when other dog owners have been rude to mine due to German Shepherd stigmas. Maraki and Ivan have showed that.

Marika and her team have been always flexible with scheduling and would recommend her and Ivan to anyone who’s struggling.

Q&As

Getting to know my clients and their dogs!
I love being able to use my education to help the lives of owner’s and pooches.
I also love that I am also able to continue my education through special client case studies (if the owners allow) that I can then submit to professional publications for peer review.

After working in the more “specialised” sectors of the field, I felt I needed a change of pace and thought that starting my own business would give me the opportunity to grow and develop a business that reflected my principals, training methods and teaching pedagogy- something I could call my own.

I think clients should choose the person who best resonates with them and their dogs, whether that be me or someone else.

What I can say is that I have over a decade of on-field, hands on experience in training, which is built on the foundations of in-depth tertiary education and further learning.
But above all else, I am passionate, have a strong sense of compassion and, of course, I have a big love for dogs.

Yes
I offer consults via platforms like Zoom and Skype.

I am vigilant in my disinfection and Sanitisation routines, incorporating the use of F10 on all equipment after each consult and the frequent use of hospital grade hand wash.

I also ensure that, if I do display cold/flu symptoms, I promptly take a RAT test and if needed, take time off.

I am also happy to wear PPE (eg mask) if requested by the client.

Services

Behaviour modification services are training programs aimed at resolving a specific problem behaviour or cluster behaviours.

Just a few of the types of behaviours that this could include are: Spinning, barking, chasing cars or people, digging or chewing, aggressive or reactive behaviours, jumping, along with many others.

Training for dogs who are human aggressive, reactive or show signs of aggression towards people.

We treat each aggression case differently and do not believe that there is one “fits all” technique to combat aggression.

Obedience classes ranging from puppy classes, through to advanced obedience.

We offer both individual (1 on 1) sessions and also smaller group classes.

Services aimed at treating dog aggression or dog-on-dog interactions include;
-1 on 1 sessions (where we may use our trained “helper” dog during the session)
- controlled socialisation classes aimed at developing better social skills with other dogs who have been especially selected for their social skills with difficult dogs.
- trainer & dog modification sessions, where owners either watch from a distance or remain at home while trainer takes the dog for intensive work.

Services in training for protection applications and training for IGP & Schutzhund sports.

Scent detection training and introductory nose work classes.

Agility training classes that teach, both practical, and theory aspects of agility.

For basic and intermediate levels

Both group classes and 1 on 1 puppy classes that include training, health and nutrition components.

Pre-puppy Preparation Classes to help you prepare for your new puppy are also offered. These are designed to help owners to set up their home, equip them with the right training skills and also allow for a trained professional to be able to “puppy-proof” the environment in the house.

We also off a number of other training services, including BAT, Desensitisation programs and Rescue dog rehabilitation programs- along with a number of other training programs.
