I’ve caught Moonlighters a few times now. Last time was as a headline band on the Saturday night of Gidgestock Music Festival. They call themselves a party band and late on a Saturday night when people really want to party, these guys step it up. What an absolute hoot! They can read the crowd and punch out the favourite tunes to get people up. What do you love most about your job?
What’s not to love? We get to bring people together through music. Seeing a crowd light up, sing along, and hit the dance floor is the best feeling in the world. Whether it’s a wedding, a party, or a corporate event, we love creating moments people remember – and being part of the celebration. Music is joy, and we get to deliver it.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We started The Moonlighters because we love live music – not just playing it, but creating unforgettable nights. We saw a gap in the market for bands that were professional, easy to work with, and genuinely fun. So we built a band that not only sounds great but delivers the full experience – sound, lighting, good vibes and a packed dance floor. We’re in it for the love of music and the magic it brings to people’s lives.

As a live performance band, most of what we do is best enjoyed in person — lights, sound, crowd, and all. That said, we’ve adapted in the past for virtual events and can offer pre-recorded sets, live-streamed performances, or custom music videos for online functions or special occasions. If you’re planning a hybrid or digital event, we’re happy to explore creative ways to bring The Moonlighters vibe to your screen.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We take the health and safety of our clients and guests seriously. During the height of COVID-19, we implemented strict hygiene practices, including sanitising all equipment, using contactless setup and pack-down, and maintaining distancing protocols where required. We continue to follow current government health advice and are happy to adapt to venue-specific guidelines. Above all, we’re committed to creating a fun, safe, and worry-free experience for everyone involved.
