What do you love most about your job?
Legal matters have a tendancy to stress people, and in some circumstances cause them to feel isolated or embarrassed. The law isn't simple, and spreads across so many specialised areas, that a legal matter is almost always best dealt with by engaging professional help. Due to the specialised and often overwhelming nature of legal problems people grudgingly seek legal advice from lawyers. Inkblack Legal loves finding ways to deal with each matter in the shortest, and therefore least expensive, possible time, explaining everything to clients, and taking their calls regardless of time. While costs can't always be avoided, and outcomes may not always be exactly as the client wants, guiding clients through the process by explaining everything and being highly available to them seems to make a difference, and that is a terrific part of being a lawyer.
What inspired you to start your own business?
For so many years I experienced, and watched first hand, contractors being poorly dealt with and unable to defend themselves, or intimidated to leave a matter alone. Between a growing preparedness by some to use their might to cheat contractors out of their dues and the difficulty of finding a lawyer that understood the contractor's position anyway, I decided to become a lawyer in my own business so that I could share my undersdtanding and be free to help the best way I could in each case.

A passionate pursuit of your matter, always available to your communications, and never trying to work your case when it is beyond my knowledge and capabilities ensure that my clients are in safe and understanding hands at all times.

Providing my services to a client can often be done according to what suits the client best; in person or remotely by phone or video link or other suitable platform. Depending on the what the matter is about, I can take instructions over the phone, supported by emails and attachments, or I can travel to a busy client at any time, or conduct meetings at my office. I have a range of technology solutions and capabilities to adapt to any client's preferences.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Being tech savvy means that in many instances a client's preference can be accommodated regarding meetings and providing details about the matter. However, should there be a preference or necessitiy to meet in person, a client can feel safe knowing that I have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, wear a mask and always have new masks available for visitors/clients, provide disposable gloves and sanitiser, and clean and wipe surfaces before and after any visits, which is possible due to the low number of instances where clients need to attend in person anyway. Should a visiting client express any additional personal cautionary measures, I will certainly meet them wherever possible.

Contract disputes need not end in expensive court litigations. Inkblack Legal strives to work with clients to find a sensible path to a satisfactory solution. Sometimes a fresh perspective can help guide a less expensive and entirely reasonable outcome for all. The earlier help is sought often means more options and quicker solutions, something Inkblack Legal understands is better for everyone.
