My name is Steven and I have been tutoring HSC Physics for more than 25 years in the setting of 1 to 1, small groups, online (Via Zoom) and classes of up to 20 kids. Over the period, I have taught three different NSW syllabuses including the current updates. I completed my HSC and university here in Sydney.

My background is in finance accounting, and I worked for one of the big four banks for 13 years as a senior business analyst. I thoroughly enjoyed working in finance. But I later found out that my passion was teaching HSC physics.

I love teaching physics and it is my passion to pass the knowledge to those students who are doing physics as their HSC subject. I started tutoring physics full-time about 8 years ago. I was tutoring part-time and working full-time in finance previously. I enjoy every minute of teaching physics. I get great satisfaction from the wonderful results achieved by the students year after year.

Every student is unique and different. As a results, my teaching method is all different. During the 25 years of tutoring, I have helped hundreds of students to achieve their goal in physics.

My way of teaching is to understand the reason why the student is having difficulties and issues in learning physics at school. I explain concepts thoroughly and differently according to the ability of the students to ensure their understanding. Finally, for me to ensure their understanding of the concepts is by asking them questions and evaluating their answers. Follow by providing relevant homework.

I go through syllabus dot point prior to their schoolwork. By taking them ahead of the school allow students to understand what is going on in the class. The class lesson becomes a revision lesson for the students. The students can then assess how much they have understood the concepts or further helps are needed.

I use their school results, teacher’s feedback, as well as catching up with their parents to determine if they have improved in learning physics.

My lesson is always fun and easy to understand.

In this fast-changing environment, I believe by continuing learning and refining my teaching skill are the best ways to pass this wonderful yet important knowledge to students. By working together, we will ultimately achieve the best possible desirable outcome in their HSC.
