I have been in practice for over 30 years. In my practice, I place a high value on remaining abreast on current thinking in counselling as well as providing therapy based on the best available research. Given the complexity that comes with managing mental health, I recognise the importance of working at your pace. Therefore, I understand the need to be flexible and creative in approaching and managing your issues to help enable change. Together we will work collaboratively to achieve new perspectives about yourself and your life situation.

As a counsellor, I value developing a strong empathic person-centred approach to counselling that is appropriate to your needs. I work towards building an effective therapeutic relationship by having openness and willingness to listen so that you feel understood. I aim to understand you and your particular life experience, your background, issues that are impacting your life, your strengths and potentials. In saying this, an important element of therapeutic change involves helping you to understand the causes of your problems as well as learning tools and strategies to change. Ultimately, I endeavour to provide you with a therapeutic experience that empowers you to live the life that you would like.
