Making cakes provides me with a creative outlet different from the usual technical, data driven work that I do. It allows my mind to switch gears where taste, smell and the visual appeal of my work defines my success on a project.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My passion for baking started in 2014 when I was unemployed. At that time it provided me with an opportunity to learn a new skill while keeping me busy. Fast forward to 2020 and Covid-19, it made me realize that I needed do something that didn't feel like a 'job' but that created joy not just for me but others. And nothing sparks joy like celebratory events and in the words of Julia Childs "A party without cake is just a meeting".
Why should our clients choose you?
My approach is to understand my clients requirements, specifically the style/design of cake they require and take a collaborative approach in developing a concept. A cake can look good but it needs to taste good as well. While I have a range of flavour offerings, I am up to the challenge of trying new recipes based on client requests. Lastly, I customize the cake to the client's budget and hope they value the time I spend making a custom cake for them. I use the finest quality ingredients to ensure an exceptional cake is created.
