What do you love most about your job?
I love working with people and seeing the positive changes that occur in their lives through therapy. Having experienced mental health issues and trauma myself, I wanted to use the tools and practices that I was given. I am fortunate to be able to do this every day.
Through doing the work I ultimately changed my life from someone who had always suffered, to a life free from debilitating anxiety, depression and PTSD. I know that it is possible to make positive change and I bring a strong passion to my work.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Due to the charity I worked for no longer having the funding to provide counselling for our clients, myself and two other colleagues moved out into private practice. My previous roles saw me working with client issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, CPTSD, eating disorders, suicidality, OCD, personality disorders, sexual abuse, domestic violence and self harm.
Running a counselling business takes up half of my time. The other part sees me working with clients suffering from eating disorders.
Why should our clients choose you?
I build strong and effective relationship with my clients. This is the most important factor in good counselling practice. The work we do together gets results. I am rainbow and neurodivergant friendly in the work that I do.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
My services can be held either online, over the phone or in person. You are always welcome to bring in a support person if this will help you feel more comfortable. The only exception that I don't work from my client's own homes. This is due to not being able to guarantee your privacy or comfort.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Client safety is extremely important. Please let me know if you are immune compromised or require special conditions when coming to counselling. I am happy to adjust my practice to suit your needs. This includes adjusting sensory conditions for those with ASD or trauma. I want you to feel safe and comfortable in your counselling space.
