Q&As

Since a young age, I have been fascinated by what makes people 'tick' and how the human mind works, so I decided to study Psychology as a result. I've also had a long standing interest in mindfulness, and practiced this myself for many years. Working as a life/well-being/mindfulness therapist and coach for me combines these interests in order to help people realise their potential more fully, and have more fulfiling relationships & lives. This feels like an absolute vocation for me -what I've always been 'meant' to be doing! Working with people is endlessly creative, and I feel so lucky to be doing the work that inspires me most - helping people live more stress-free, more happily, and in a way that is more fulfilled and in line with their values.

Working for myself gives me a lot more flexibility - it allows me to meet clients where they are at, and tailor sessions to their specific needs and goals. It allows me to draw on a variety of modalities and fields rather than having being 'stuck' with having to follow the guidelines of a particular institution or way of working.

Because I am passionate about what I do, and happy to go the extra mile in order to give service. I'm committed to on-going self & professional development, and always open to new learning in order to work with specific client situations. I combine an excellent academic background, with a warm, non-judgemental approach, and a wide life and career experience (in a variety of fields - from business to non-profitmaking sectors). I'm constantly expanding my knowledge around the mind, health and how to help people get the most out of their life, families & relationships, and I would love to work with you!

During Lockdowns I see clients online to prevent spread. At my Clinic and other rooms, our hygiene policies are in line with the Government recommendations, and I practice regular hand washing, and social distancing during appointments. I also have a clear record of client appointments, so that I can inform people of any possible exposure in the unlikely event this is needed, (as well has having the option to scan in with a QR code).

Services

A safe yet stimulating space in which to explore your current life situation, goals and needs. My aim is to partner you in a non-judgemental way to help examine and change 'stuck' patterns of thought/behaviour, as well as discovering together how you can lead a richer, more meaningful life (in line with your personal values/goals).

Sessions are 1 hour each, and will include goal setting, psycho-education, and learning new practical tools/skills.

Parenting Sessions include learning new, research based tools/skills to increase your connection with your children, manage the tricky times with more ease and less conflict, and cope more easily with the many pressures of being a parent in today's world. I am a step-parent myself and deal with many parents in my role running Mindful Parenting Workshops, so understand the need for a non-judgemental approach and a good dollop of humour!
Sessions are 1 hour in length.

As a previous facilitator of a Mindfulness workshops in High Schools, and having a teen step-daughter myself, I understand well the many pressures facing young people in today's world, and it is an area I am passionate about , as I believe skills gained at this age prevents many mental health problems as adults. My sessions are focused on helping youth to gain emotional resilience and self-regulations tools, cope better with pressure and make wise decisions, based on their own values. I keep a non-judgemental and empathetic stance, recognising navigating these ages and stages can be tricky for everyone!
Sessions are 45 mins or 1 hour, depending on age.

In this service, I am happy to see people either individually, or as a couple, in order to help resolve a variety of relationship problems. My particular focus is on building effective communication, which leads to increased connection and trust, as well as clearer boundaries. Also, helping couples remove 'stuck' patterns of relating that it is only too easy to fall into. Developing a more positive view of our partner/relationship can also lead to many shifts in the couple dynamic.
Sessions last 1 hour.

My therapy sessions use tools from a wide variety of modalities to gently explore and improve your psychological wellbeing. Areas covered include stress, anxiety and low mood, work-life balance and the relationship between emotional and physical health. There is a focus on creating new positive habits, and processing difficult emotions in a healthy way. This helps clients to get 'unstuck' and take their lives forward in the direction that they desire; all within in an atmosphere of non-judgemental, compassionate support. Sessions are for one hour, and include relevant tools from a variety of research based modalities, including CBT, ACT(Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) and Mindfulness based approaches.

Counselling for wellbeing, relationships, parenting and life changes. Process difficult emotions in a safe, empathetic and compassionate space, get unstuck from unworkable patterns of thinking and behaviour, and create life direction and balance. I help clients get in touch with their most heartfelt values and desires, in order to lead a rich, full and meaningful life, and help them on their journey to fulfilling their full potential.
