I found Jacopo through Bark and was initially reluctant to do remote counselling. After the introductory session, I was immediately put at ease. Jacopo is a highly empathetic counsellor who really listens. While this may seem obvious, I found that J had an ability to identify the feelings and barriers behind the emotions and to present these back as insights. When I first met Jacopo I was astonished by his striking presence. Through speaking with him in conversation I had the sense through his power of listening that I was not only allowed but encouraged to peel back the next layer of my thinking to reveal what is really alive in me moment by moment. When I then had more intentional one-on-one spaces with him, I sensed I was completely held where I was at despite my doubt trying to pull me back from letting things land. As this doubt crept in, I got the next piece or hint from Jacopo’s sharp clarity and the space moved forward. I did several emotional healing processes with Jacopo, with the purpose of being in the experience and feeling rather than giving a story or description. Jacopo gently and persistently encouraged me to take the space to feel and not to rush it. He kept bringing me back to the sensations in my body, without trying to squeeze the experience into words, and then allow any words that wanted to come. It was new for me to express my feelings by placing most of my attention in my body and gave me joy to discover I could do this. Jacopo was perceptive with his questions and bought distinctions at different times that expanded my thinking e.g that our bodies experience something every moment.
