I have many years experience in the mental health field in NZ and UK, and am specialist in eating disorders. Sitting in a therapy room talking about your feelings can be confronting and is not for everyone. Exercise Psychology takes a more informal yet practical approach.

The walk and talk was a really cool way to face my challenges. Ash gave me some useful strategies to practice and was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
What do you love most about your job?
I love teaching adults and children about psychology and showing them the benefits of exercise or physical play on our thinking. The mind is fascinating and powerful in optimal conditions. I am passionate about providing practical support for coping in everyday life. Outdoor therapy is my preference where there is something about being outside and in the fresh air that is relaxing and grounding.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I wanted to combine my career skills to date (Master of Psychology, specialist in mental health/eating disorders and Sports/Exercise Coach), and provide an affordable service that people could access before they hit rock bottom. Most of my work is outdoors as sitting in a therapy room is not for everyone.
Why should our clients choose you?
Exercise Psychology is different compared to sitting in a therapy room. My activities are affordable, more relaxed, and I bring specialist experience and knowledge from working in the mental health field. Shifts in health happen when you try something new.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Although online works for some individuals, I choose to meet in person as I the activity we do together encourages shifts in behaviour and thinking.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Most of the work we do is outdoors in the fresh air.
