Dog training is my passion, my hobby and my job. I am a Dublin based dog trainer. I work on a private one-to-one basis travelling to people’s homes to help them train their dogs. These lessons are done with the animal’s well-being in mind at all times, and the aims and goals of their owners. I begin by explaining how dogs learn, what motivates them and then help owners train their dog. The only training methods I use are Positive reinforcement, this is Reward based, Force free training. Modern Dog Training that is based on behavioural science. The results of this type of training are outstanding. A wonderful trusting bond is formed between the dog and owner. Everything from behavioural adjustment to basic obedience and trick training is covered. Along with training for on-line media, commercials and TV. Qualifications include holding a B.A. MSc.

What do you love most about your job?

I'm living my life long dream every day of the week. I love that I can help people with their problem dogs and see great results.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have had a lifelong interest in dogs – starting at the age of just 9 – the moment my Dad gave me my first dog and I began training him. When I should have been reading my school books, I was instead, reading books on dog training. By the time I was 12, I knew every breed of dog in the Collins Encyclopaedia of Dog Breeds.

Throughout my teenage years, I trained dogs for obedience and agility competitions. I brought them up to the RDS in Dublin for dog shows. It was my dream to train dogs for movies or guide dogs for the blind. I simply had a way with dogs, and training them was a skill that came naturally to me.

Having studied psychology, I completed a BA in anthropology, followed by a Master’s degree. I worked in this field for a numbers of years but never lost my desire to work full time with dogs.

I wanted to know how they understood the world, how they learned and how I could better train them. In 2008 I decided to revisit my childhood dream of being a dog trainer.

Working as a dog walker in New York was my starting point and on my return to Ireland, I completed a course in ‘Canine Obedience and Training’ and then I studied canine psychology and behaviour, and each year I attend animal training seminars all over the world on the subject.

Why should our clients choose you?

I have being a professional dog trainer for over 10 years and achieve great results for all my clients.

Having studied psychology, I completed a BA in anthropology, followed by a Master’s degree. this education gives me a greater ability of not only how to train dogs but to help the dog owners learn about their dogs.
