Lisa has been an absolute dream so far with our wedding journey. The initial meet was amazing! My fiancé and I instantly clicked with Lisa. She is so funny and outgoing and right from the first meet we could tell she was the right fit for us, she was so personable ( and of course I loved all the shots I’d creeped already of hers). Anyways, we just got our engagement photos back and WOW. They were amazing. Absolutely stunning. Not to mention she had them Edited and back to us so fast! Oh Lisa! Where do I begin. If your looking for a professional, talented, kind hearted photographer then look no further. Lisa was the absolute best to work with. Photos are my favourite things. I print them all out label them and throw them in albums. So, I knew I needed to find the perfect photographer. I spent a couple of months searching and I narrowed it down to 3 people. 2 seemed like a company with many people and one was just Lisa! So, I kept waiting as I couldn’t decide, and my fiancé didn’t really care about the photos like I did. One day I saw on Lisa’s FB page, a card that a client had sent her. They were so excited and impressed with her pictures. I loved their card and it sealed the deal for me. I had seen her photos and creeped all her social media, so I knew she was a great photographer but reading the card from another client made really made me feel like she was the right choice. I made the appointment and set up a meeting with Lisa she did her thing, and everything fell into place. She was super accommodating when I wanted to do a Christmassy engagement shoot 2 months before my wedding. She squeezed me into a day she had her own family Christmas events as the day was a perfect sunny day and the snow had freshly fallen the night before. It was perfect. Fast forward to our wedding day and she was extraordinary. Mitch and I had no clue what to do. She made everything so smooth and flawless. We had previously filled out paper work, so she knew who we wanted pictures with. The wedding was perfect! We had the best time of our lives. A couple of weeks after the wedding Lisa let me know that she was working on them which was a nice reassurance. Many of our friends had waited months for their photos so I wasn’t expecting them back fast, but I was hoping they would be ready soon. Within a month after our wedding Lisa sent me the photos. I was so excited and happy that she was able to get them back fast. Mitch and I spent an hour going through them all. I wanted to cry, they were so amazing. I don’t usually like pictures of myself right now, but Lisa was able to capture such magical moments. Every single picture was perfect. I was so excited. I haven’t shared the photos yet with my family as I want to do special gifts for people, but I cannot wait to show them. Lisa THANK YOU! Thank you so much for all your hard work! We first met Lisa when she shot a family members wedding in 2016. I was so impressed with the beautiful images she was able to capture when the weather was less than cooperative that we hired her for a family session. Since then, she has taken maternity photos of me and our family then family photos once our twins were born. Most recently she came to my home (in a blizzard!!!) to capture some lifestyle images of my sweet twins and I. I highly recommend a lifestyle session for anyone with young children! It was so convenient and comfortable to have everything I needed for myself and the babies right there especially since they are still nursing. Photographing two 8 month olds who are on the go is no easy task but Lisa worked with us through all the hair pulling to get the perfect shots. Lisa is extremely professional, patient and kind. She is passionate about the work she does and it really shows. She has a way with young kids, my 4 year old adores her and she is better at making the kids smile than me! I will never forget her incredible act of kindness when she learned of my grandfathers passing and surprised us with a beautiful headshot she edited of him from the family wedding without being asked. The pictures she has taken for us are my my most valued possessions. July 29th, 2017 was the best day of our lives! To say Lisa captured our day perfectly would be a understatement. When I first started looking into photographers, I wasn’t sure how I would know when I found the right one. It’s such a huge decision. I searched over 20 photographers in the Durham region area and when I came across Lisa Hughes photography I just knew she was the one. When we met in person she was surprised I was ready to sign the contract right away, but I just loved her! I had such a great feeling about her. Then she did our engagement shoot and my husband and I had such a fun time. We were nervous at first but she was so fun and easy going and yet she was so professional that the shoot went perfectly. And then I got the photos back and my gut feeling was SO right. They were perfect!!! Through the next 9 months she was there to answer any of my crazy bride questions and open to all my ideas! Then came our big day, we had a group of over 20 bridal members plus 4 kids and 2 sets of parents. Lisa and her second shooter were so fun to work with all day long. I had a list of special shots I wanted and she made sure we got them all done since I was so busy and consumed with wedding day craziness. My wedding party all loved her and told me throughout the day and afterwards. And then we got our photos back, not only did they come back at a super reasonable time after our wedding day, they were beyond what I imagined! They brought me right back to our wedding day. I relived every little feeling that day and more! She literally captured our love and the perfection of our day that I worked so hard to create from every little detail to our big moments in the day! I am extremely pleased with all the hard work and dedication Lisa puts into her photography. She did our engagement shoot back in the fall of 2016 and this past June our wedding. She is such a fun loving down to earth girl. She knew how to keep us in line and have such a great time. Lisa was recommended to us by a friend and after we met with her, we were convinced that we had to hire her as our photographer for our wedding in October, 2016 at the Kortright Centre in Woodbridge. She was very helpful with the timing of the day and keeping everyone on track. She was especially helpful in making the very camera shy bride (me!) feel more relaxed and even confident! We love Lisa! Lisa did our engagement session back in September of 2015 and then shot our wedding in October this year. During our engagement session there was a mixup with location and she traveled way farther then she expected even though she didn't have to, and our pictures were exactly what we wanted! Our wedding pictures are absolutely gorgeous as well. Couldn't have asked for anything better! I don't even know how to stat the review... Lisa is AMAZING. That's the only way to put it. She makes you so comfortable around the camera during the engagement shoots, and captures the best smiles. But then when it comes to the wedding day she has ideas for pictures I would have never even thought of... and even though it rain all day and all I really wanted was outdoor pictures the inside venue was amazing and she took advantage of that and I am SO please with how the pictures turned out. All of my wedding photos are amazing they captured every moment of the hole day and I couldn't have imaged having any one other then Lisa capture those moments for us! Lisa took our engagement photos as well as shot our wedding this September, on the wedding day it POURED rain, and Lisa did an absolutely wonderful job at making the best of a wet situation! She took the boys pictures ahead of time and we got the family and bridal party done before it really started to come down. Lisa also came very prepared for the day with plans and backups based on the rain, as well as matching umbrellas for the bridal party, and the pictures turned out amazingly because of it! Lisa, and the photography & videography team that she brought with her, were absolutely amazing on our wedding day and after. Photography and videography were extremely important to us and I always dreamed of having a highlight video that makes everyone cry and photos that I want to stare at everyday. I am beyond grateful that I have received all of this. On our wedding day Lisa was more then a photographer. Our wedding was delayed due to an accident on the hwy and she was helping with conversation between myself and my husband to see who has arrived and if we can get the show on the road. She helped to calm me down and find me water or anything else I may have needed throughout the entire day. It felt like she was family and a part of my wedding party and I couldn't have been happier. We also had the opportunity to have engagement photos done, however before we decided to go with Lisa we already had gotten them done by a family friend. We decided to go paint balling with our wedding party and Lisa was more then willing to join us and take photos throughout the day, it was awesome to capture those moments. I am forever grateful to have had her and her team capture our special day and for the amazing photos and videos that have come out of it. Lisa Hughes was an amazing photographer. She did both engagement photos and wedding photos. She is so easy to work with and places both partners in natural positions for poses and shots. She included our daughter in our engagement photos which was amazing. She captured the fall theme we were after as well. She kept in mind all Pinterest ideas for wedding shots and made sure I was completely happy with what we captured. The day of our wedding Lisa came early and scoped the area out looking for great places to take photos. She was with the girls as we were getting ready; capturing me with all my girls for every moment. She then went to the guys and captured them getting ready. Lisa was working with a sprained foot and even though her foot was so swollen she continued like a champ. Last minute I asked her to stay an extra hour because our venue was running behind; and she agreed to capture the rest of our night. I would recommend Lisa to anyone who wants their special moment captured perfectlyI will be using Lisa for Christmas minis and other occasion where I will need a photographer. Lisa was a pleasure to work with. Our engagement shoot was fantastic - she made us both feel comfortable, which was surprising for me since the whole thing is kind of inherently awkward. At our wedding she was equal parts professional, friendly and fun. She handled our (sometimes overwhelming) extended families with ease and grace. I don't think I saw her once without a smile. Haven't even seen all the shots from the wedding yet (sneak peeks only!) but I'd highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fantastic photographer for any occasion.
