Great food, great staff. Some of the best Indian food in Edmonton!
If you find this helpful, give it a thumbs up!Customer WiFi: coriander-guestWashrooms: yesPower outlets: noPet friendly: noParking: free next to buildingFood/Drinks: took a little while for all our food to come out but it was well worth the wait! Bold flavors and everything was cooked amazing! The chicken was super moist and you could tell that the spices were different from dish to dish. Definitely a adventure for your taste buds! The only dosa I've ever liked is the one from downtown remedy but this one could give it a run for its money.Service: our server Tony was super nice and his recommendation was super as well. We were fairly well looked after however, it would have been nice if our waters were topped off more frequently.Atmosphere: fairly open with some interesting decor. Arches, fancy lights, large bay windows, pillars, definitely lots to look at and take in while waiting for your food. If you found this helpful, let me know by leaving a thumbs up! More...

Perfect ambience for an eat out .. spacious inside. Plenty of sections for group gatherings. We tried chicken fried rice and masala dosa. Both were excellent. Fresh ingredients and satisfactory portions. 4 stars for the service . I took one star off for the parking facilities. There were only limited spots on the side of the facility. Over all very good experience. More...

Delicious! Went because we bought a Groupon, but we will be back. Tried several different dishes a la carte, all different and delicious. It's alright, the food had the classic Indian taste to it. The restaurant did have a more homegrown Indian feel as the owners children sat us down and gave us the menus. The owner kept pushing the buffet to us for some reason but the food was okay. Overall, it's a nice homegrown establishment. More...
The ambiance of this restaurant was very pleasing. The owners and staff were very good and helped us in our choice of cuisine. Its location was good in a peaceful and beautiful neighborhood close to the University of Alberta. There was availability of free parking space. The cuisine was a combination of North and South Indian food. The food was very tasty and well priced. The quantity was good too. Our overall experience was great. The Chef brought out new dishes that he created for our opinion for free. Mango Panna is a juice made from raw mango . This juice was very refreshing. I have not tasted it any where in Edmonton. Would surely visit again. It's a great place to eat with family and friends. This place is very spacious and welcoming. More...

Good restaurant to get some indian food at decent price near Belgravia. I personally liked the ambience and service of the restaurant. We can’t find very warm welcoming staff. Authentic regional food. Food is prepared in the most traditional way possible and you can taste it in every bite.
I live very close to this restaurant and have always meant to try it out, and I’m so glad I finally did! Very nice ambiance and friendly staff, and service was quick though it was very quiet when we came for lunch. The food is delicious and flavourful, and their garlic naan is to die for. Seriously I want to come here everyday just for their naan. I will say to not overestimate your spice tolerance though, because we ordered a “mild” dish and it still had quite a kick. More...
Delicious food, great hosts. I will definitely be back!
A delightful surprise in residential McKernan. Good food, good portions, reasonable prices, friendly atmosphere with good service - well worth checking out.
I was there last friday with my damily friends. The food was awesome and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend it and will go again.
Cute location, a lovely neighbourhood gem! I had wanted to try them out since hearing about them before they opened. As luck would have it, Groupon had a deal available so I purchased it and finally had the opportunity to go this weekend. We were the first people there upon opening and we ordered a number of dishes to try. Everything was delicious. The kebab chicken was melt in your mouth tender, and the chili cheese naan was a highlight as well. The methi palak paneer and chicken korma were equally delicious, and the sauces were rich and flavorful. When the chef came out to ask us our thoughts, I couldn't think of a thing to improve on. They have a number of items on the menu that I have not seen before at other restaurants (I tried a lentil doughnut with yogurt and maple sauce as an appetizer and it was great) so I'm looking forward to coming back and trying some other new things in addition to old favourites. More...
The food here is just incredible. This is easily the best Indian cuisine I've had in Edmonton, and maybe have ever had. The Railway chicken was delicious and the beef vindaloo had a really nice heat to it. Also, the deep fried veggie pakoras was soooo good. The staff is super friendly, and the restaurant is pleasant and clean. And the prices were very good, about $10-$12 per dish. I will absolutely visit again. More...
Great South Indian food. Owner is always friendly and welcoming. Has the best dosas in Edmonton! This is a must try in Edmonton for Indian food.
I love Indian food. But I have been really disappointed with much of the local Indian food due to the overuse of cream and sugar. Coriander Cuisine is an amazing restaurant that prides itself on its high grade meats, fresh (wow can you tell the difference!) ingredients and a huge menu. It is tasty tasty food. It tastes bright, and fresh is not laden with heavy cream. The butter chicken is tasty without being overly rich or sweet. The Palak Paneer was amazing - bright green. The paneer was fresh and soft. The Papdi Chaat was a treat to see on this menu and was the perfect combo of spicy, sweet and savoury. I look forward to going back and trying the South Indian treats - dosa, idli, etc. The waitstaff was attentive. The management was also serving and came to chat at our table. This gem is tucked away in McKernan and there is a lot of easy parking. So try it - you won't be disappointed. Get the beef vindalooo too! Yum. (Also don't be fooled by the name Coriander - there are tons of dishes without cilantro/coriander. I know there are quite a few folks who don't like that flavour) More...
We were a group of 8 multi ethnic people who decided to try out Coriander Cuisine. I must say it was equally palatable to all our tastes. The spice was just right for all of us unless you cannot handle spice at all. We ordered lamb curry, butter chicken, spinach and lamb, lamb biriyani, chicken masala, naan, cassava and everyone liked the dish they ordered. The price was just right for the quantity. Will definitely come back again with more friends. Hopefully you guys maintain the quality over time. More...

I would definitely recommend this place to you.Great food and great portions. With such nice and welcoming staff.
Great food! New place worth checking out!
Friendly, good food and huge portions
What a wonderful hidden gem! Absolutely love the food and service at Coriander Cuisine. I took the family out for dinner, and just happened to drop in. The food is uniquely spiced and different from the majority of Indian restaurants we have been to. We tasted the vegetable and meat dishes, and were pleasently surprised to taste freshness with each one. No frozen meat, or old produce used here! The service is also excellent, we really appreciated the efforts of the kitchen and the gentleman serving us. The kitchen is clearly run well, as we didn't have to wait long on a busy night for our meal to be prepared. Side note - There is a great spot to take photos here. It's nice and bright, with a beautiful light feature opposite the bar, perfect for photos and selfies! More...
The best indian restaurant in town
Aditi Saini Mittal
Very tasty food. Malai kofta is out of the world! Amazing services. We loved the great ambiance and big portions.
Hands down one of the best Indian restaurant that I've been to in Edmonton. Hats off to Chef Apu Gomes for presenting such a fresh and delicious menu which caters to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian clientele and the cherry on the top is his knowledge of allergens such as Gluten which makes it a lot easier to order the food ( for someone like me who has Celiac disease)A must visit for anyone who's looking for quality South Asia meal !!
This restaurant has the best Indian food I have had. Tons of choices on the menu. You can specify your dinner from extra mild to extra hot. Great vegetarian items. Really good food. Great Portions... I have had my fair share of Indian food in the Edmonton area and this one took the cake for me. The spice levels were perfect and the food was very flavorful. Chef can even make dishes outside their menu (depending how busy they are) like Chole BaturaBoth staff and owners are Friendly and overall very welcoming. They have the great Pakora basket and holistic Kale chat.I have never had a bad meal here. Highly recommended!PS: Happy to watch the over crowd on this Saturday and we waited for almost 30 minutes to secure our table (we didn't made reservation). However they served a sip of wine to ease our wait. More...
Food was great. Will have to go back.
Delish!!! I have been here twice and we were completely satisfied and stuffed both times! I dreamt about the the chicken korma between visits so had that on both trips. We sopped up all the sauce with the beautiful fresh naan. Shrimp tandoori was amazing too.... we also tried a mutton dish that was good. Not my favourite meat but the sauce was super. The outside looks old but its a new restaurant and the inside is very nice. Do not be fooled by the outside! Service is attentive but not in your face. Highly recommend! More...
Best Naan in YEG! The food was amazing, and we will definitely be eating here again. Also the interior was exciting!
Delicious Indian food served in a wonderful atmosphere. Legit the best in Edmonton! Serving authentic dishes of North and South India. We had the butter chicken and Chicken Korma and they were very nicely flavored. Chicken65 and Beef ularthiyathu are best combination for wine lovers. The flavor can be adjusted to suit your palette. The portions are generous and the staff were quite friendly. The ambiance definitely sets the mood. The serving girl came to us a number of times to kindly ask how the food was. The place is clean, wonderfully furnished and decorated with a nice little bar tucked in the corner as you enter. Keeping in mind the size of the portions it was not a surprise that we had extra to take home with us. Overall a great experience, we'll be sure to return. More...

Delicious Indian food...and great service.... Tandoori plater is awesome..
Best garlic naan!
Delicious food. Huge portions. Will definitely be coming back.
Really fresh and tasty food and I liked veg dishes and good atmosphere, thank u staff for your service
Phenomenal. No premixed spices. It is not uncommon to spy toasted cardamom or cloves.Their food is very very true to what you would find in India. The tandoor chicken we got was juicy, and full of flavour. It came out on a sizzling hot plate. Vegetable stew was mild, somewhat sweet but balanced with aromatic spices. The smoked eggplant was the best though, spicy with a silky texture. Garlic naan was the best I ever had, could have eaten it alone. More...

Another wonderful meal at Coriander. This is my 6th visit and we haven't been disappointed. My son loves the chicken tikka - so fresh and moist! We love the vegetable korma and the aloo gobi and the naan bread is fantastic. Friendly staff and the chef comes out to say hello. They now are licensed so you can enjoy a beer with your meal. And don't forget they do take out as well. More...

My client and I stumbled across this little gem today and we were MORE than pleased with our first dinning experience. To start, the food was amazing! A great big thank-you to chef Apu for the delicious meal. Chef Apu came out to our table and introduced himself, he has years and years of experience which was evident in the quality and freshness of his food . One thing I really loved about this restaurant was the fact they do NOT have a freezer in the building, a concept they take pride in. Everything is fresh, cooked in house at the time of placed order! Basil was the fellow that sat us, recommend dishes to try and as it turned out was also one of the owners. We had the opportunity to meet all 3 of the owners. You can really see the passion they have in their restaurant and their desire to see each customer leave with a delicious and satisfying dinning experience. We really look forward to coming here many more times and send them the best of luck in the success of Coriander. Hands down the very best Indian I have had!!!Thanks guys! More...
We live 1 block away and are so excited by this fantastic new Indian restaurant. Run by 3 families, their repertoire runs from North to South Indian food styles. We have been 5 times now and had a wonderful experience every time.Everything has been delicious, but the dosas and samosas are truly outstanding! It should also be noted that each dish has a taste of its own. So many restaurants have a "sameness" about their menus, but Coriander offers a wide range of taste from dish to dish.Since Banjara closes its doors last summer, this is now our new favourite Indian restaurant in town. More...
Amazing food, great selection and extremely delicious. Very kind staff!
I have been waiting with anticipation for this restaurant to open as I watched the renovation of the building all summer and it did not disappoint. I finally got to go tonight and had a great experience! Tasty food, great portions, great service, and very reasonably priced! I can't wait to go again! More...
Lovely staff and delicious food! Such a nice addition to the neighbourhood. I'm excited to come back to try some more dishes :)
Our new favourite for Indian foods - really interesting menu with many unusual or eclectic (to us) dishes. Incredible flavours and good spiciness if you ask for it. Good value too. Our waiter didn't know what bhindi translated to but we ordered anyway - my most hated veg - okra. It was incredibly good and not slimy at all. More...

My family and I loved this quaint little Indian restaurant. We stepped into the place and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and the incredible decor, furnishing, lighting and artwork. We ordered Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Kurma and Malabar Porrotta. It was cooked fantastically and with rich sauce. Overall, this restaurant provides the best Indian cuisine in Edmonton. More...
Very Happy Customer
Instant Neighborhood Classic!!! Immediately Memorable. FRESH. FRESH. FRESH. We ordered the 'Chicken 65' as an appetizer. Spectacular! The phenomenal flavours just exploded off the plate. Awesome appetizer at dinner, but it would also be perfect for a quick lunch during the workday. The main course was Chicken Tikka Tandoori. In a word - Superb! Very large quantity of perfectly spiced tender juicy chicken on a sizzling hot plate. Big enough for two to share! Delicious! Ordered butter naan and garlic naan. Perfect! They exceed what were already high expectations!. The naan's were piping hot and a few of them would make a meal on their own. We were very full at that point, but the food was so fantastic that we were wondering what surprises dessert might hold. Dessert was very tasty - a rice, raisin and coconut milk dish called kheer. Like everything else we order, I would order the kheer again too. A LOT of food but the the bill was an extremely reasonable 38 bucks. Anna and Saroosh were super attentive, genuine and service was very personalized and warm. Can't wait to go back to see Anna and Saroosh - and try some more fantastic offerings - a second, third and fourth time!! Coriander is very close to a very large complex of office buildings to the south. From those buildings, take South Campus LRT to McKernan Belgravia + 2 blocks east on 76 Ave). Or (from the north) take University LRT / Health Sciences / McKernan-Belgravia and 2 blocks east on 76. This place Coriander is going to be a major major hit, both for lunch time crowds, and in the evenings. For fantastically spiced, vibrantly flavourful food, don't walk, RUN! to Coriander. It won't be long before this place gets veeery busy. More...
Great place, absolutely love it! Big portions of delicious and very versatile options of food. 7 or 8 different lamb dishes, which is rare to find. Prices are very good, which makes it possible to try a lot of things on the menu. I was there with my Indian friends who said it was also great and authentic. Beautiful decor, very clean, friendly stuff (I was offered a milder option of a spicy dish). We also received complimentary desserts! Absolutely worth trying this new place! So close to university, makes it a nice place to take a break for lunch off-campus. More...
Great food and a lovely staff! Definitely going to be coming back.
Excellent food, friendly staff, great atmosphere
staff was friendly and helpful...our food was delicious! we will be back
Great food! Very extensive menu that focuses on Indian regional foods including the south. Chicken, beef, salmon, and jumbo shrimp are the main meats although you can also go vegetarian. The usual vindaloos and masalas along with a few other dish names I didn't recognize. They also have a few dishes with Chinese influences.Service was."prompt but not rushed" but I attribute that to only being open as a sit down restaurant for a couple of weeks. Meanwhile, they're doing a thriving business in takeaway. Both the owner and server were most apologetic about the "slow service" and as I said, it wasn't quick but it wasn't really slow either. The only down side to our first dining experience here was that there was no booze on offer. The owner assured us that the liquor licence would be coming in a couple of weeks The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Control bureaucracy do tend to take their time on stuff like this but it'll get there. In the meantime, enjoy with ice water, pop, and I did see some sort of fountain offering... Nah, I'll wait til they have beer on the fridge! Although I will do a little takeaway now and then... Totally recommend. More...
I live in McKernan and was super excited to finally have an Indian restaurant in the neighbourhood. We ordered out 3 dishes I have never heard of before and they were all fantastic.
