I asked Taraneh if she could come by my newly purchased condo and give me a quote for a kitchen overhaul along with bathroom upgrading and some minor updates to the living room.
She did and based on her quote and timeline, I was reluctant to see it as realistic; and this being my first home I was admittedly a bit nervous to go through with renovations as I saw it as a huge mountain to climb.
I did however go along with her plans, and we entered into an agreement. She started work a few days later and in those few days she did an excellent job preparing me for the task ahead - she helped me through the approval process, material purchase, and so on. Suddenly, the project seemed doable as these initial preparations are half the battle. I was not nervous anymore!
On the first day of the actual renovations, she showed up well prepared, had all the necessary tools, and a well drawn out plan. I was extremely impressed with her professionalism and integrity through the course of the project and she stayed on track both in terms of timeline and budget. Not only was she very well trained in home renovations and the “hands-on” aspect of the job, but she was also very helpful in giving me ideas regarding home decor and what to pick/not pick to make my condo my home.
If I highly recommend Butterfly Affect for any home renovations or interior design. If I could give her 10 stars I would, but unfortunately 5 was the maximum!

Highly recommend!!!
We hired Tara in 2016 and loved her so much, that we simply built Butterfly Affect into the plans for a new reno to our home.
Our Son had a request for a 'blue and orange' bedroom. I told Tara and expected a laugh, but she not only made it happen, she made it look amazing!
She blended our old and new spaces seamlessly to create a modern and functional masterpiece.
We are so happy with her work and love our home.

We are working with Tara on her Caroline St. 4-plex renovations. She purchased this property in Hamilton and is completely transforming the building, one suite at a time. Her modern-vintage design aesthetic is one that is VERY popular right now in Hamilton, and that probably explains why the beautiful suite was rented out immediately!Tara has a great eye for design, and for market trends, and is also very organized with excellent communication. Tara was wonderful to work with. Over about a year (our timeline, due to various work demands etc.) we transformed our apartment in Kitsilano. Tara had wonderful recommendations on how to maximize the space we have and we love coming home now.
