I'm coming up on a year since I brought Moose, my English Bulldog, home as a little puppy...so I'm reminded of all the help and support I've had from Lori in the past year! Could not recommend her enough, from puppy visits in the early weeks to boarding when I need it, and twice daily walks to this day that Moose loves, Lori does it all! I'm not sure if could ever feel as comfortable leaving Moose with anyone else, I know he's in good knowledgable safe hands and that if anything ever happened he'd be taken care of with speed. Lori is completely and utterly reliable, I get great photos of moose out and about having fun every day and I go to work without worry. When we board, Moose stays with Lori in her home and has fun outdoor adventures and lots of rubs and cuddles...really, a home away from home. I cannot recommend Lori and Urban Tails highly enough! I have had dogs all my life and would not have it any other way! I have been dog walking for over 8 years and thought it would be time to start my own business! I recently graduated from York University with an Honors Criminology Degree but did not feel right leaving dog walking behind. Working with dogs has always been a passion of mine and I would not feel complete if I did not pursue it!

My company focus on engagement training and structure scheduling for your daily life with your lovely pup. This type of training requires working with your dog and the owner on repetition and clear communication on what's acceptable and what's not; using reward based training, luring and games to connect with your dog in a positive way. Giving the owners the knowledge that will empower them to be more confident and clear on communicating.

My name is Kamiya and I just wanted to briefly describe my journey as a dog walking and sitting business. Firstly, I am extremely honoured to be doing something that I love for a living. From a young age I took on the responsibility of owning my very own puppy! That special puppy encouraged me to explore and determine what I really love to do. In high school I started working at a structured dog daycare and boarding facility and thrived very well in the environment;

Are you planning a holiday and trying to decide how to arrange care for your pet(s)? I have been a live-in pet sitter for the past 7 years, where I care for pets as though they are my own. I like to live in the pets' homes because I believe that most pets benefit from remaining in familiar surroundings. This is especially true for dogs who are anxious or need extra attention. Pet Sitting in your home also means that I will keep your home secure. I am retired social worker, a mother and a grandmother! So I bring a helping personality and life experience to this role. I enjoy watching how a dog or cat figures out that I can be trusted. And I know that my clients consider me to be a trustworthy pet sitter. I sit for a one week minimum and am available to drive to locations outside of Toronto. The first step is to meet with the pet owner on zoom or in person. This gives us a chance to discuss expectations, get to know each other and for you to learn more about my service. Trust is a key factor when selecting someone to live in your home. If you think I am the right person, I will want to meet your pet. I often spend additional time with a dog to be sure that I am strong enough to manage him/her on a leash. I ask people to send me a deposit to confirm their dates in advance. This helps me organize my schedule so that I can manage my many pet sitting commitments. Please Visit my Facebook page (Sue Berlove-Pet Sitter) to see photos of my many pet-friends!
I have fallen in love with most of the animals I have cared for. I can't say that I love all dogs or all cats...But i do expect that living with a pet will be interesting and engaging. They are great companions and can become good friends. I love hiking and so dogs that enjoy long walks offer me a special kind of out door companionship.
I am retired at the moment. But I started doing pet sitting as a way to travel. At first I applied for pet sitting using a barter system and that let me travel more cheaply to England and Scottland. No money was exchanged, but I got to travel and explore new places. Now I am living in Toronto and set my service up as a business because I enjoy the company of cats and dogs; now days I prefer doing pet sitting in rural areas where the fresh and a peaceful countryside are calling me to walk dogs through the woodland trails. However, if you live in Toronto, I might still be available.
I am a retired social worker, trained to listen and understand what people need. I am also a good communicator with a warm friendly personality. My honesty leads people to trust me, which is key to providing such a service. Life experience is another strength: I have been a home owner, a mother and recently became a grandmother. My pet sitting experiences have included the need to address challenges that require action. An experienced pet sitter knows how to manage unexpected events such as an appliance break down or a pet needing to see a vet.
We discuss the current status of Covid and adjust plans as needed.
