I am writing a review about my experience working with Vas and his team for a recently completed kitchen and bathroom renovation. The only accurate word to describe the experience is ….. "Fantastic". From the original meeting and budgeting/design to selection of finishes to incorporating changes, everything went seamlessly. I was continuously impressed with Vas and his team's knowledge, workmanship, and attention to detail. Vas was on site every day, easily reachable any time, answered all my questions and helped with the decisions along the way. The crew were there every day from 8AM to 5PM, kept the worksite clean and tidied up at the end of the day - all important things for a homeowner living/working there. There were no delays waiting for any of the sub-trades to be on site and the project finished on time as per the original contract. With respect to cost, there were no surprises or hidden costs, and any changes were fully discussed and agreed to. I think the thing I appreciated the most is that I felt Vas was as invested in the project as I was and really wanted it to look good and function well and for me to be happy with the result. And I am! Thanks again Vas for making my old 1988 kitchen/bathroom into beautiful rooms that I will use and appreciate for years to come and, just as important, increasing the resale value of my home. More...

An absolute pleasure to work with Vasile and his crew. After searching for many years, we entrusted Vasile to create our new entertainment spot in the house: the basement! from demolishing to the studs and redoing our basement. That included spray foam insulation, drywall, floors, higher end ceiling and stairs. He listened to all our requests and customized everything (including an almost-impossible-to install barn door). No cut corners and no extra costs, apart from our additional requests. He also suggested some finishing touches like woodwork and countertops, which made all the difference! Select Urban General Contractors was the perfect fit for our kitchen and first floor renovation. After having met with a half dozen contractors, We hired Vasile - he is a cut above everyone else. He is professional, a meticulous planner, has an incredible eye for design, hires like-minded subcontractors, is cost-conscious, sticks to his promised timeline and has an attention to detail we very much appreciated. He is engaged and present. There was continuous communication. In this world of COVID delays (either illness or low stock) Vasile is an active and persistent problem-solver, not afraid to roll up his sleeves to do the work himself. We have an old home and opening walls and removing floors lead to many unexpected surprises - Vas tackled them with calm and provided valuable advice. And once the job was done he personally touched up any imperfections. Vasile and his subcontractors (especially Leo) were extremely considerate of our being in the house through most of the work, and left the house spotless every day. We have 1 or 2 years warranty on all finishing materials, all depends of the project.

We love everything about this job. We always like to see smiles on our customers faces once the project is completed. We love to make everyone's dreams come true!
What inspired you to start your own business?
We have been employed for multiple companies here in ottawa and usually one of the biggest companies in renovations. We couldn't stand the quality of the work this companies had been offered this clients ( bad) for the top dollar they have been paid. I was looking at this more like a ripoff.
I decided to start this company to change the attitude of construction industry, and don't make big profit margins like others do 60%- 70% but a lot less. Our prices are fair and we like to keep it this way for the top quality.
