I have tried several pest control companies. Both well known ones and obscure ones and in each case I found them expensive and non effectual.
I was desperate (arachnophobia is no joke) and thought to try Pest Dectective as friends on Bowen Island swear by them. Thank God there is a branch in Surrey and Langley. Ken S. came out and after talking to my husband and I, he understood the severity of my phobia and went above and beyond in spraying and bombing my house. He then got rid of the terrible ant problem outside. He also helped our neighbours with their wasp in the attic problem. He also set up my house exterior spray program and looked after our mouse and rodent on-going control. When we moved to Langley I begged Ken to come and set up the same program in our new house. We have used this company several years for ant spraying and have been satisfied with their service. However, this year the technician made unprofessional comments about having to come again to do a touch up spray. The technician's attitude only changed when we showed her where the ants were that she had missed spraying the first time around. Up until then, she was implying that we only called them back for a touch up when it wasn't necessary. Hired them for a wasp nest removal and everything went well. Diego was efficient and helpful over the phone. Andrew showed up to do the actual extermination and did so competently while demonstrating a pleasant and professional manner. Oh my! Chris and Emil came to our rescue today! We were traveling up HWY 97 in our 37 ft motorhome almost entering Canada and a bat started flying all over the cab of our coach! I immediately googled for help. PD came up and Chris came to our rescue! We had the bat trapped in our back bathroom so we could travel to Emil in Westbank. Chris and Emil came to our rescue today! We had a bat in our motorhome. I did a Google search for someone to help us. Chris at pest detective came up on the search and when I called him he came to our rescue. He arranged for us to travel about 2 hours (the bat was locked in our rear bathroom) and meet up with the Emil in a WalmartParking lot. We have used Pest Detective for more than five years now, to keep rats and mice under control at both our residence and some rental properties we own. They do a good jobs and are always polite and helpful. Last year they removed a family of skunks from one property, and the skunks did not return. This isn't the first time we have used Pest Detective to help us with our problems. They are knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt.
We have/had an infestation of carpenter ants, Doug and his team came out and diligently went to the task of eliminating them from the cracks and crevices of our house. We also had a couple of other services performed concurrently to prevent creatures from building nests in our roof.
On the initial consult Doug also pointed out other problem areas that we ourselves could fix to help keep our home critter free.

My husband left our garage door open one night in the cold weather and a rat decided to wander into our home and take up residence in the wall. I am deathly afraid of rodents, to the point that I nearly had to move to a hotel. I called several Pest Removal businesses and they all told me they were booked into the following week. I was beside myself and contacted North Shore Pest Detectives. They could hear the shear terror in my voice and went out of their way to get me someone in a timely fashion.
