I found Monarch while browsing Instagram one day. After meeting Dave, we knew right away we wanted to work with him. We didn’t even meet with any other companies. From start to finish, it was a great experience. The employees did a fantastic job, and were flexible in slightly changing the design midway through the project. I had the pleasure of working with Monarch Landscape on a complete backyard project that included the full design, cedar deck, large patio, step stones gardens and trees.
From the very beginning I was impressed with Dave and the whole Monarch team. The crew was extremely detailed, paying close attention to all the build details, and were very professional. The job site was well organized and cleaned daily.
The project was completed ahead of schedule, and we were able to enjoy a full summer season out in the new space. We look forward to working with Monarch on future projects. I would recommend them to anyone interested in a proper design for their outdoor living space.

We challenged Dave and his team to design a contemporary shade structure - a pergola that doesn't look like a pergola. I have had the pleasure of working with Dave Van Dam and his team at Monarch Landscape in renovating two backyards (2011 & 2015). As a homeowner who has well-defined design preferences and aesthetic needs, Dave worked hard and succeeded in translating my requirements into his designs. I think his creativity and vision for both projects have been nothing less than exceptional. As I sit here in my living room looking at my backyard, I'm reminded again of why we chose to go with Monarch Landscape. Our backyard space is simply stunning and my family and I are looking forward to our many stay-cations here in the years to come. The team at Monarch are great! Everyone, including the pool, electrical and painting subcontractors, were as nice as can be, as well as very professional. Monarch transformed what used to be our very poorly graded back yard into a tiered and functional space. We have gardens, a patio and a play area that are all very well used by our whole family. Their attention to detail and materials used make our yard the talk of the neighbourhood. They also built privacy screens and added a shed that provide privacy from our neighbours without looking like a standard fence.
