The team at Hawk did an amazing job, start to finish. The project finished mostly on time and mostly on budget and we are very happy with the finished product. Most of the trades and people working on the project were friendly, respectful and professionals. Shoutout to Leo for minding the guinea pig during a weekend away. There were bumps along the way but the team was open, collaborative and creative in how these bumps were addressed. Shoutout to Marcus who really was a wonderful partner during the entire process. The whole experience was very positive. Some areas for improvement: 1) CoConstruct - I still don't like this tool. It tracks information well but is often difficult to find things 2) Financials - everyone likes to track these things a little differently but there should be an tried and tested process to ensure it is clear on what $ amounts have been paid and what is outstanding. It felt like we needed to drive this at times but they were open to our needs and we feel like we got to a good place with it. 3) Communication - mostly good but at times we felt like things had to be communicated numerous times to different people in order to get things done. I can appreciate the complexity with managing communication on a project this size. For context, timeline for project was about 6 months and cost was approx 300k. The true test of project like this is to ask yourself the question...would we use Hawk again? The answer to this is a resounding yes and we've already recommended them to friends/family who are considering projects.
