We were there for lunch. It was busy and I sat watching the staff behind the counter cooking. It was like an symphony. They kept moving and serving up food. The servers were polite and every one of them would scan as they passed to make sure we were fine. Fish was cooked perfect and so was he fries. A perfect 10 out of 10 as a lunch goes. This has been our go to spot for a while we get to support a local business, and have a very tasty meal. I understand staff shortages and all the other difficulties Covid has caused but on our last visit we were very disappointed. We were told and not in a particularly friendly way we could not sit in the back section because of staff shortage, this is our usual spot because daughter is in a wheelchair and it allows us to stay out of the way. We moved to the front and before we had even ordered the tables in the back were occupied and got served. Our meal was the prime rib hot beef sandwich, which was dry and way too salty we did mention it to the waitress but 🤷♀️our dessert which was apple crisp looked and tasted like someone popped some apple pie filling on the plate and sprinkled some oatmeal top tried to eat it but failed, not the apple crisp we ususlly got. They were busy I will give them that but we have been in there when they are swamped before and the food has always been excellent. This is not a tourist complaining we live here year round. More...

WOW!! Whenever we are in town we try to stop in at The Family Place. It’s our favourite breakfast spot to visit with friends, share a meal with family, or for some quick and delicious food on our own. We recently loved the mimosas and specialty coffees we had there as well! While breakfast is our favourite dine-out meal, the specials available all day long are awesome!
