First off we would like to say the entire home buying experience was a first for my wife and I, and Dolce Vita homes made it a painless and great experience. This may be a lengthy review but it would not be doing Dolce Vita justice if we kept it short and left out the details.From the onset, we dealt with great salespeople like Juliana and Darryl We found both to be very knowledgeable about everything, and able to answer many of our questions immediately. We had previously been around to other showhomes in the area but the salespeople there seemed to give vague answers or tended to beat around the bush so meeting Juliana and Darryl instantly gave us a good impression of the Dolce Vita brand and the staff it employs. Both of them should also be commended on their patience as they never rushed us and explained everything very slowly and carefully (we tended to spend a good deal of time with customization and contract questions). Extremely positive experience and we would (and have) recommend these two to anyone looking for new homes.Next along our home-building journey was the trades meetings. After the first few meetings, we realized that Dolce Vita only contracts top-notch tradesmen who are at the top of their industry. Darryl at Tiger Electric was fantastic. He was very patient with us as we asked questions and made some electrical changes, and he even gave us some really good recommendations which we had never thought of previously. Jody at the Upper Hand was very good at talking with us to find out exactly what we wanted, making layout suggestions, and making sure the wiring would be sufficient for our media needs. All the other trades were also very helpful, but we did not spend too much time there as we liked the defaults. The Design Center was quite lovely, and offered many different options and upgrades. We found that even the standard category had plenty of options to choose from and ended up selecting many styles from there. Shari, the design manager, even contacted us with some concerns she had while looking over our selections. Instead of being the upsell meeting we thought it would be, the meeting with her proved to be genuinely helpful, as she asked us questions and recommended colors that would match well together and never pushed or pressured us for upgrades. She seemed to just really want to make sure we would love our selections, which was quite nice.Onto the construction portion of the whole process, we were relieved to find that the care and quality was consistent from the framing to the finishing. Jonas, our construction foreman, was great in answering our questions, and taking us through the house as it was being built. He even asked us questions like where we would be hanging tvs and/or pictures, and added an extra board or two so we would have a sturdier wall to nail the hardware to. This was very much appreciated!For our possession date walkthrough, we had Carson who was great in walking us through our house and pointing things out that needed to be fixed. He was very detail orientated and noted many things that we definitely would not have noticed or known about if we had done the walkthrough ourselves. This level of integrity made us feel comfortable in our choice of builder. For our 3-month and 11-month walkthroughs, we had Evan. Evan was a great guy with a good sense of humor, and really did his best to help us out with everything. Like Carson, he picked out many things that took a trained eye to notice, and told us about them and how he’d fix it up. He could have easily just pretend it wasn’t there and we wouldn’t know any better so we really appreciate him going out of his way to spot these things. He had a great rapport with all the contractors as well, and they worked together both quickly and efficiently on the trades days which were scheduled. Another great thing was during our 11-month inspection, he made it clear to us that just because the last walkthrough was done, doesn’t mean we can’t contact him anymore with questions and that he is always willing to help. This made us feel that everyone was very committed to leaving a lasting impression on us, and were constantly going over and above to provide a quality home that customers would be satisfied with.In conclusion, we would like to thank everyone at Dolce Vita for the great experience. I am well pleased with how my house turned out. From the purchasing, designing, building, and maintenance/warranty work, things have gone smoothly. I love how well designed and beautiful Dolce Vita homes are and the quality of their work has been great. I moved in and everything was working well as it should be. There were issues of course, like a microwave missing on move in date but the customer care manager was responsive and gave me dates immediately. I had issues with other builders and trades parking in my driveway, I sent an e-mail to the care manager and they put up NO PARKING signs. I will definitely buy another Dolce Vita home in the future. Dolce Vita not only did a great job on our new home; they handled any problems along the way quickly and accurately. At one point, we managed to customize the design of the house to satisfy the city - and it was done within one evening! The quality of the work is top-notch!! We can see the difference in both the workmanship and materials when we compare to our friend's new builds, and we spent less than they did. I would 100 percent recommend Dolce Vita. We have a home we trust to last for generations; we were involved in the process and informed every step of the way; and we have had all the support we have have asked for since we moved in. A plus! The quality of the building is excellent. As usual we evaluated the older homes they built to see how they wear, and they held up very well. After speaking with the owners of these homes they seemed very pleased. The quality of finishes is EXCELLENT, and the water barrier they put on the foundations is GREAT peace of mind. My only misgivings would be they built my neighbor's concrete pad slightly on our property line (only a few inches, but still.......), and the woman who handles upgrades was not very helpful at all. This was my first house that I have built with Dolce Vita and the building and buying process was personalized and easy. I love how pictures of the progress were sent to me at every stage of the development. Sales and client services always responded to questions and concerns. Dolce Vita homes build our dream house and we couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. Our sales associate Caroline was amazing, she was patient with our many questions and was always prompt to respond to emails and voice messages. During the build, the various stages of progress were constantly relayed to us via pictures and emails, something that is very important with a purchase of this magnitude. As this wasn't our first home build we knew that there might be minor issues post move in period. We were surprised however, how few there were. The site supervisor even picked things up that we never would have noticed. After a year post build, we had virtually no warranty work as the final product was so well constructed. Frustrated with visiting Big Box show homes (who let you walk thru show homes and then only can you ask questions), we went to Dolce Vita homes as our last showhome to visit. Amazingly Emma Wellman the sales manager at Robinson Leduc took us through the showhome explaining each and every aspect of Quality build of Dolce Vita Homes, she said never mind you came to look at this showhome, i will explain all that you want to know about Dolce Vita Homes. Emma had our price in mind all the time and recommended a model for us within our budget. We tried to frustrate her with lots of questions with no luck and she would simply answer it with a smile. Once we signed up and put our deposit, Emma showed similiar show home 4 times, and though our the building process, she would say 'hey there is one of you same home 80% complete do you want to see it?' (good luck even calling your sales guy wtih other builders). What i want to say is that there is no where you will get this kind of customer service backed by Quality Build. We got possession 2 months before schedule and enjoyed the new home before winter set in. We have lived in our home for 2 months now and are super happy with the entire process and quality of our home. I would recommend Dolce Vita and Emma Wellman (Leduc Robinsons) to any new home buyer, unless you prefer big box large scale home builder and deal with lot of ego's, frustrations and issues. More...
