Hello and welcome. I am a wedding and couples adventure photographer based on Vancouver Island. My journey as a photographer started early in my pre-teen years when I had received a small digital camera for Christmas. Any opportunity that came up I would head out and about to create some sort of project with me and my little friend (camera).

My husband and I were very lucky to be able to meet up with Dayla on a short trip down to Vancouver island, and we are so happy with the results of our session! We are not photogenic people haha, so we needed all the help we could get and our photos are wonderful and look natural and very true to our style and our goofy attitudes rather than seeming too formal or posed which was something neither of us wanted. Dayla is an extremely talented photographer! Me and my husband decided to do a first look and she captured every emotion of that special moment. She gave clear directions and proposed lots of great poses. She made us feel very comfortable. Not only is she very professional, but she is so passionate about her work, which shines through not only on the day of, but also in the photos that she takes. Dayla is so professional and amazing to work with. Me and my boyfriend were in town for just 3 days and I messaged her very last minute to see if I could get in and she made time and the effort to make it perfect. It was the first shoot I'd ever had professionally done and she made us both feel very comfortable and not out of place or awkward. She gave great direction as to what poses to do and where to stand! What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Being passionate and exploring a subject from new angles. I believe that getting real moments and real interactions make the greatest photographs.
What do you love most about your job?
I love getting to connect with people and see their connection with their loved ones. I love love so getting to work with people who are excited about their new chapter together fills my heart with so much happiness. It is so wonderful to be part of such a big moment in someones life and being able to capture really precious moments and interactions is such a special thing to be able to do.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always been passionate about photography and being creative. Throughout my early teen years I fell in love with photography and would spend hours and hours on projects. After highschool I knew that photography was something I wanted to pursue further so decided to study digital photography in college. I officially decided to become a business owner after completing my studies , mostly inspired by my passion for the art of photography but also by combining my passion with such an important thing of keeping special memories for people to look back on. I really feel photography is so very important.
Why should our clients choose you?
I have passion for what I do and I do it well. I am a fly on the wall who will be there to capture so many special moments and also will create special moments for you! My style is laidback and easy going with a mix of poses that I will direct you through but also let you be you! I want you to feel like yourself and be comfortable. I love a good adventure and am not afraid of getting dirty to get the shot. I love to create real moments with you and get those real laughs and smiles. Lets have a great time freezing moments of time together!
