Q&As

My team of therapists and I are dedicated and committed to providing our clients with a safe and non-judgmental space in which they can express and share their thoughts, feelings and experiences, as well as providing thoughtful feedback and suggestions that are tailored to the clients’ personality and challenges. Given the collaborative nature of the relationship, the therapy process is client-centred.

As far back as I can remember I have always been deeply caring and inquisitive and generally interested in understanding people. I am also a pursuer of knowledge and aside from completing degrees in psychology and social work, I continue to learn in order to keep up with emerging approaches and neuroscientific understandings of the mind, brain and body.

My group practice consists of therapists who care, are compassionate, and skilled at what they do. In addition to providing a compassionate and validating space, we are highly engaged in the clients’ change process help them reach their goals.

Services

We provide psychotherapy services for those who have experienced abuse or neglect in their lives. Our therapists work with issues and challenges arising in the present as well as processing memories and experiences from the past.

PTSD or post-traumatic stress disorder can be a result of physical or sexual abuse, domestic abuse, medical trauma, exposure to traumatic events at work, childbirth experiences or the death of someone close to you.

We provide services for clients who have gone through such traumatic events and are still experiencing symptoms in the present.

Anxiety and depression could be present in your life for different reasons. Our therapists help our clients gain a better understanding of their experience, clarify why it’s showing up currently or has been showing up in their lives and how to address it.

We help couples address their communication challenges, infidelity or trust issues, gain a better and deeper understanding of their relationship dynamics or to resolve repeated, unhealthy relationship patterns. Our therapists are trained in different relationship modalities to facilitate a change process that is beneficial to the relationship.

Anger management requires an awareness of triggers, thoughts and behaviours that contribute to intense reactivity. The presence of anger can have its roots in childhood (for various reasons) but they can also be a function of present circumstances. Our therapists can help you better understand your triggers, recommend practical ways to manage your anger and, if needed, explore when anger became a typical way of responding to stressors.
