Deciding to work with Crossing the Threshold has been one of the best decisions i've ever made. At the time, I was really struggling and it truly felt as if I had no hope or purpose in life. Since then, my life has done a full 180. I've been able to rebuild important relationships and accomplish many of my goals. Most importantly though, I truly feel happy and am excited for what tomorrow has to offer. More...

Services

Relationship problems are normal. This aspect of life is perhaps the most troublesome and important to keep in order. Couples that love each other very deeply often find themselves unable to grasp the nature of what is destroying the relationship. This service is designed to get to the root of whats driving the emotional feedback loops that cause relationships to get so out of control. creating a happy communicative relationship were both parties are in tune with the needs of the other is the goal.

Crossing the Threshold staff have many years of experience working in the addiction field. Drug and alcohol counselling sessions are a down to earth and in depth look at the clients addictive behaviours. The goal of the sessions are to help the client navigate though their mind. Discovering what they want for themselves and the best ways to make that happen.

Counselling sessions can very drastically in their approach. Sometimes all someone needs is for someone to listen and provide support and encouragement. Alternatively, clients sometimes want answers to specific questions. Questions such as, what should I do about this situation with my spouse? Why do I get so angry at my co-worker? Why do all my relationships end the same way? Other times its about strategizing and goal setting. Whatever approach you want to take. Crossing The Threshold will happily oblige.

Recovery coaching has a very broad range of activities. Usually done in person, it is an interactive way to overcome addictions or mental health conditions. The first step is a detailed assessment of the client. Substance use history, family history and exercise history are examples some of the information we need to best help you. Based on you're answers. A specific and personalized plan would be created. You and you're coach would meet between 1-4 days a week and accomplish the goals that were set in a collaborative way in the planning phase. Some activities we would engage in would be:

Going to the gym
Runs
One on One Counselling
Motivation interviewing
Discovering Hobbies
Art
Music
Sports
Resume building
Getting drivers licence
Community Integration
Job Search
House Search.
