We recently had the pleasure of working with Mark Wilson of Chermark Renovations. We contracted Mark to renovate the basement in our 60 year old home that had prior flood damage, to update our original 60 year old kitchen and to update the electrical service and rewire the entire home. Before he even started, Mark made several suggestions and recommendations that we had not even thought of, the result was amazing. Better than either of us had imagined. All in all am very happy with the work done. Could have done a better job on the drywall in some spots, but this was a HUGE job on a 100 yr old home and lasted 4 months. I'm impressed they were able to get it done in that time, so I was willing to sacrifice a small amount of quality for getting it done. I have no doubt he would have fixed it if I'd asked, but I needed the job done. Excellent tile work. We just bought a new house and needed a couple of alterations carried out. We needed some built in closets removed and a new one built. We also needed a room divided into two with doors installed. We had a tight timeframe both for getting a quote and for the work to be carried out. Mark fitted in with our timeframes and carried out an absolutely fantastic job. The new closet (for which I gave very little direction at all) was built to a very high standard and in the exact style of the house. I would never have thought to specify the sort of work that was completed. There were lots of other little things like Mark going out of his way to source some flooring to repair missing pieces after removing the closets. Again, not something that I strictly specifed but Mark's professionalism in carrying out a complete job was amazing. I cannot recommend Chermark Renovations highly enough. It is a real lottery contacting a builder you have had no experience of but I hit jackpot here and would not think twice about using Mark and his team again. More...

Chermark was contracted to carry out an extenisve renovation project of our basement that involved the finishing of added living space including an office, family room and closet space. This was not the type of job for an inexperienced contractor given the necessity for several trades i.e. plumbing, gas fitting, electrical, hvac, dry wall finishing, carpentry, etc., and in the end, Mark Wilson and his team performed beyond our expectations creating a bright, warm and cozy space for our family and friends to enjoy for years to come. During the construction they also provided a friendly work environment that allowed my wife Linda to feel comfortable at all times while at home during the work, and demonstrated flexibility with any last minute project changes even offering up their own ideas at times to make the changes even better.As a Quality Manager I am understanding of not only customer needs, but also their wants and as such, pay close attention to the small details that contribute to the overall satisfaction of a customer. Chermark delivered a home run for us and as promised, completed the project on time just before Christmas to provide the added entertainment space we had hoped for; the slate pool table we had installed shortly after, and the play area built for the grand kids were clearly a hit over the holidays. EVERYONE who has since visited has provided positive commentary re: the quality of workmanship and notable upgrade in our house value. We were moving into our condo in a weeks time and needed the bathrooms tiled before the hardwood was layed in the living room. Mark came to our rescue and fit us in between jobs,working at all hours and around the painters as well. We really appreciated his efforts and would use him again. We hired Mark to help us prepare a home for rental. He worked with us to ensure all of the little jobs were completed in a timely and professional manner. Mark was extremely patient and accommodating throughout the entire process, which started the week before Christmas. He worked with my condo corp's contractors to get my bathroom renovated and functional before the Christmas break after an unexpected mold problem arose. Even the edging and finishes he installed in e bathroom were exactly what we had been thinking. We were pleased with the final tile work done in the bathroom, kitchen, front hallway, powder room and basement. Mark and his partner John took horrible sliding doors that went from ceiling to floor and converted them into normal height doors. The coat closet is now a beautiful sliding glass double door on tracks, with dark wood trim (door from Rona) and good sized trim painted white, to match the baseboards, all around that door. The linen closet door, previously another floor to ceiling sliding door, was converting into a 6-panel bi-fold door, and as the opening was 38" wide, they framed the opening to accommodate a 36" door. Trim matches all the other doors in the long hallay. They turned two sows' ears into silk purses. We couldn't be more pleased with the result. And they are so easy to work with, making small changes when requested, seeing what we hadn't realized needed to be taken into account, etc. We'd recommend them to anyone who wants pleasant, reliable contractors doing a good job! We desired to convert an existing bathroom to an upstairs laundry room to make better use of the space. Mark was very professional from the moment we met him. He is likely the only contractor I will ever meet who suggested that we try to do it ourselves to save money. We realized that that wasn't an option for us for a number of reasons and pressed forward with the renovation. The job was done on time, for the estimated cost that was provided and in an impressive manner that took into account the family schedule. I was very impressed with how clean the work area was kept daily and the lack of intrusion for the family. Mark also pointed out a number of future issues we would need to deal with in our home but never once pressured us to let him do the work. While not the most elaborate of jobs, Chermark took great pride in the finished product and we have received many compilments on the new room from critical family and friends. Mark came to quote this bathroom reno and was prompt and courtious.The reno was started and finished on schedule. The reno in its early stages was inspected by us step by step as Mark led us through the process from start to finish. We needed a complete kitchen renovation, basically re-doing the kitchen from the ground up. Mark at Chermark Renovations was fantastic through the whole process from providing a quote right to the finished product (which is beautiful). We hired Mark Wilson to act as general contractor for our garage addition.From the very start we felt comfortable and confident in Mark. He started the work sooner than promised and things really took off. He is very well organized so there was no down time waiting for excavation, forming, concrete etc. Everything just fell into place. We had work done by Chermark Renovations, the latest two being our garage and family room. A door was installed from the garage to the house. In the basement (family room) we had the carpeting removed and hardwood flooring installed. All work was completed as per agreement and in a professional way. We are so happy with the results of the reno. The basement was completly unfinished when we purchased the home and it was great to work with Mark in planning out the layout. He gave us some very helpful advise and made recommendations along the way which really made a difference in the finished result. The end result is beautiful and we feel very proud to show freinds the new space. The home originally had the old popcorn ceilings which really dated the overall appearance. He suggested installing a resilent channel and instlling new drywall to cover the textured ceiling. This procedure spared us hours of scapping off the textured ceiling and the finished result with the crown molding is awesome. It completly updated the space. The previous owner dropped by and she could not believe the difference that the renos made. We would highly recommend Mark to anyone looking for a quality reno.
