We got permission in January of 2016 to replace our rancher with four smaller homes on smaller lots. This project was very complicated, and was the first of its kind in our municipality. It required Comprehensive Development zoning. There were a lot of hurdles to overcome, but Blue Ocean stuck with us through the entire process. As a result, we were able to downsize, stay in or own neighbourhood, pass part of our large lot to our 3 young adult children, and avoid strata fees. I would like to thank Blue Ocean Construction for building our innovative project of replacing our old rancher on our 66' by 100' lot in a single family neighbourhood with four smaller homes so that we could downsize, avoid strata fees and pass land to our 3 young adult children so they could own 3 of the 4 new smaller homes. As my wife and I had no previous renovation experience, we decided to contact a large reputable company, The Home Depot, for the renovation of both our master bathroom and the en-suite one. . Blue Ocean Construction Inc., the Certified Service Provider for The Home Depot engaged Gavin Bizzarri as contractor/installer. which turned out to be an excellent action by the company. Gavin was a pleasure to work with as were the people he engaged to assist him, including a plumber and electrician. The work was completed efficiently and accommodated our personal schedules. Gavin synchronized the work so that one bathroom was always available to us during the renovation.. He met us at a local Home Depot and patiently went around the store with us providing advice when we were choosing items such as toilets, vanity, faucets, shower stall, etc. Every day when work was done, Gavin would let us know beforehand when to expect him and the members of his team. He was always on time.. The renovation work done was excellent and we are very pleased with the results in both bathrooms. The cleanup was meticulous. While the final cost turned out to be about 4.8% above the estimate, it turned out that we had chosen some items costing more than had been budgeted for in the estimate. Blue Ocean Construction were contracted by Home Depot to provide the on site renovation work for my ensuite bathroom.
This involved the removal of the old countertop, removal of a half wall, removal of the prefab shower, the toilet and sink. Also the flooring was replaced, then a new countertop, toilet, sink, and complete new shower, taps and light fixture.
I was very pleased with the workmanship and the attention to detdetail. Also there were a couple of adjustments that I needed and these were provided without a problem. Gavin was the contractor that worked and coordinated the renovation to our washroom, utility room and replacement of our existing old copper pipes. Gavin and the subcontractors hired for the job, did excellent work, were very professional and courteous and respected our wishes and accommodated some of our requests during the construction without any complaint.
