Working with Ali has been a great experience. As a couple we chose to workout together and Ali was both flexible and accomodating. Not only did he design effective workout routines, but he also went above and beyond by providing invaluable guidance on nutrition, mental well-being, and overall lifestyle choices. His holistic approach to fitness improved how we look and feel but also how we think.

Ali's knowledge of movement and anatomy was instumental in adapting our workouts based on previous injuries. His exercise adjustments, and physical body treatments and adjustments made exercising more challenging and much more effective. His unwavering support, encouragement, and genuine care have made every session a challenge to look forward too.

Ali has helped me with my mind body & soul. And has helped me gain the confidence to move my body freely with no pain and to do the activities I couldn’t do before. Not only have I lost weight and gained muscle, I have gained a friend in him as he shared guidance, support and kindness towards me throughout this journey. Personal Trainers

When I met Ali I was just starting to heal from a state of depression and despair that had affected me physically. I knew what I needed to do, but honestly wasn’t sure how to do it. I needed help. But I needed the right person to help me. If you’re looking for a meathead, drill sargent type of trainer, to scream you into shape, Ali is not it. You absolutely do not need that kind of energy to see results.

When we first met, my normally guarded self was in tears within the first ten minutes. He genuinely wanted to help me, and I felt it. He talked through some heavy stuff with me, including some physical limitations that I have. We talked goals and he came up with a plan. He has not only helped me lose 50lbs in 5 months, but he’s been amazing with life advice, and spiritual guidance.

We laugh a lot, and talk about life. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that I’m paying him, because it feels like I’m working out with a friend. My son is his biggest fan(future protege, maybe) and truly gets excited to know that Ali is coming to do some exercises!

If you generally find people “into fitness” either pompous or intimidating, I promise you won’t find that in Ali. He is so kind, and he is wise beyond his years. A true joy to work with, and very accommodating. I’m so thankful that I trusted my gut, and decided to work with him.

Ali was a very positive, thoughtful and professional trainer. After sustaining a sprained ankle before one of our sessions, he curated a program for me that not only was gentle on my injury, but actually helped to heal and strengthen the affected area. Ali always showed up with a smile and a cool program to build strength and flexibility. He listened to what I hoped to get from the experience and designed our sessions around my needs. He's also just a really nice guy, and a pleasure to spend time with. I would recommend Ali to anyone looking for a thoughtful, talented and knowledgeable trainer. More...

Ali Kanaan was my personal trainer at Epic Fitness in Ottawa. At the time, I was overweight and out of shape and unmotivated, but Ali helped me push through my bad days and embrace my full potential.
Ali is an excellent trainer to work with. He is passionate about physical and mental wellness, and this comes through in his dedication to his clients. He has a perfect mix of professionalism and good humour. He is a great motivator and always encourages you to do your best. I suffer severe chronic pain. Ali was able in the first month to loosen muscles that doctors have been trying to loosen for 20 years. The journey I’ve initiated with Ali was undeniably the best self-care decision that I’ve made so far in my life! I’m very confident that I’ll feel the ripple effects of such a huge lifestyle change further on in my life. He let me be myself and accepted me the way I was from my starting point. Without judgment, he gave me a safe space to learn through reconnecting to my body- hence mind and soul- and truly thrive in an area that I’d neglected for so long in myself. I signed up for personal training to address knee pain, learn proper form and how to workout in general without any pain. I was assigned Ali and I am so grateful we were brought to together and were able to work together . Ali is extremely professional, highly knowledgeable about body movement, and very supportive. I was overweight, without a good body shape and no such will to exercise on my own. I decided to hire a personal trainer and Ali was assigned. To be honest, he is one of the best! I could see positive changes in my body shape and Ali taught me was to know my own self. He has a good personality! My passion for movement started

I recognized the need for a client centric and holistic approach to health and fitness. I started my career in personal training working in big box gyms where clients became just a number, due to the volume of clients I was working with.

I now only work with 10-15 people at a time to be able to greatly impact peoples lives and help them transform their lives.

My holistic approach to health and fitness is not commonly found. I have been a Personal Trainer for 10 years and I am constantly learning and researching about movement, nutrition, and mindset.

I'm also very particular about who I work with as I only work with 10-15 people at a time who are ready to totally transform their lives.

Yes. All that you need is a mat, a few resistance bands and a tune up ball

I provide online sessions through zoom and I make sure all the equipment I use are constantly sanitized

Services

Functional training is a term used to describe exercises that help you perform activities in everyday life more easily. These exercises typically use the whole body — definitely multiple muscles — and emphasize core strength and stability

Loaded Movement Training combines task-oriented movement patterning with resistance training. Agility and strength come from moving the body in a multitude of purposeful tasks with load, just like back on the farm.

Used to perform many types of exercises, including ballistic exercises that combine cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training. Kettlebells are known to improve overall strength, core power, balance, flexibility, and coordination while also melting fat and sculpting healthy and lean muscles

Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state.
