What do you love most about your job?
I love connecting with my clients over what's important to them. Booking your first counselling session is no joke, and I loved to acknowledge the courage it takes for clients to admit they are worth investing in.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I had a personal encounter when a family member battled their addiction. Going through this journey inspired me to become a counsellor to offer support for those who are walking through seemingly impossible circumstances. There is hope, things do get better!
Why should our clients choose you?
Choosing a counsellor is difficult, there are so many to come by and how will you know if they're a good fit? Here's the thing, I'm rooting for the side of you that wants to improve, that is tired of being stuck or repeating negative patterns, the side of you that believes this journey is too big for them, but wants to do it anyway. I'm here for this side of you because I know that with willingness, anything is possible!
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I do provide remote services and find client's enjoy the freedom of participating in a session from the comfort of their own home Eliminate driving in an emotional state, grab a comfy blanket and log in!
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Counselling
Shonah strives to build trustworthy connections by meeting her clients where they are at with unconditional positive regard and empathy, encouraging an open dialogue in sessions and collaboration on treatment. She believes that all clients should feel free to discuss all matters important to them, as well as have the right to retain information they are not yet ready to divulge.
Her counselling approaches are collaborative and include motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, and homework exercises to expand upon what has been discussed within the sessions.
Clients struggling with anxiety, depression, relational issues, as well as those wishing to broaden their self-awareness will benefit from working with Shonah. Most notably, Shonah is passionate about providing support and resources to those who have an addict in their lives, as she is familiar with the toll this supportive position can take.
