I have been working for PARKER HR solutions since 2020 as a Digital Marketing and Sales Consultant. This is my first Job outside of my home country, after migrating to Canada from Sri Lanka.
At PARKER HR solutions, I am handling various marketing activities, such as, planning, building, and implementing digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels and platforms to improve the presence of our company, brand, and services under the direct leadership of Gifty Parker, Founder and Executive Director of PARKER HR Solutions.
After 3 months on probation, I ended my internship and was offered a contract role as Digital Marketing and Sales Consultant which came with numerous learning opportunities within the company along with routine content creation, social media marketing and management tasks. During this time, I also got an opportunity to explore managing an online learning platform called “Thinkific” for implementing our courses around Corporate Leadership. I built the course content and landing pages online and with the help of the team, and successfully rolled out two major on-demand online courses to our learners, which are currently available on our website. In the last few months, my role at PARKER HR Solutions has evolved to include responsibilities around keeping our prospective and current online Corporate Leadership learners engaged with tailored online support throughout their learning experience with PARKER HR. I am happy to participate in the team’s initiative for complimentary learning opportunities for non-profit organizations as they navigate the pandemic; helping our business build excellent connections with non-profit organizations in Canada.
Another exciting learning opportunity for creating a sales strategy for PARKER HR Solutions came towards the end of last year, which was extremely exciting for me as it was the first time working on a sales strategy for a new market. I was able to successfully create a strategy after extensive research about the market, customers, and competitors; helping me gain immense knowledge about the Canadian market to obtain a clear-cut strategy for the business.
Working for a small-medium-sized company presents a lot of learning opportunities and challenges that would help one grow personally and professionally. I have learned a lot about the business functional areas and customer relationships while working with the HR consultants at Parker HR and have always admired their customer skills and how they establish exclusive connections with each client. PARKER HR is a great place to work with amazing colleagues in a team culture that is all about trust, transparency, and active learning. I am genuinely happy working with Gifty Parker and the rest of our team. The team empowers my Marketing ideas and strategies and urges me to implement them with clear directions and contributions - this has helped me overcome my newcomer jitters at the beginning of my tenure and helped me settle into the Canadian work culture and business processes.
I am profoundly grateful to be a part of this amazing and devoted team and look forward to supporting our clients to lift their HR weight off their shoulders with tailor-made HR solutions.

I started working for PARKER HR Solutions back in November 2020 initially as a Human Resources Intern. I worked directly under the supervision of the Founder and Executive Director of PARKER HR Solutions, Gifty Parker.
I was hired during the critical end of the year period to assist the team with current Human Resources projects that include Learning and Development modules on Management and Leadership as well as Performance Management tasks such as Employee Appraisal Form and Client Feedback Survey. Both of which were completed last December 2020. Furthermore, I was also being trained to handle Talent Acquisition projects for potential clients while also attending professional development webinars sponsored and paid for by PARKER HR Solutions.
During the first week of March 2021, I accepted an offer from Gifty Parker to remain with the company and work as a casual part-time Junior Human Resources Consultant. Since then I have been handling different Talent Acquisition tasks for clients in the personal services, aviation and non-profit sectors and industries. In addition, I spearheaded the 2021 Service Brochure of PARKER HR Solutions that is now available on the company’s website. Currently, I have been working with a potential non-profit client based in British Columbia as well as the rolling-out of the new Service Proposal Template that will be used for future correspondence and contract discussions with clients.
I would say that working for PARKER HR Solutions has been both a challenging and fulfilling career. PARKER HR Solutions delivers tailored-fit Human Resources services to its client base all over the world. Although this requires an intensive research background on the potential client and their needs, it also provides an exciting opportunity to work with diverse clients and companies in improving certain facets of their Human Resources function. Likewise, delivering our client-centred HR services requires significant individual and collaborative efforts to maintain our high standards and promise of quality satisfaction - wherein with the favourable responses and valuable experiences from our past clients, we are proud to say that we have been consistently delivering high-level of client service.
Working with Gifty Parker and the rest of the team has been a great training opportunity for me as an HR Professional, as they continuously foster a supportive environment that always assists and motivates each other to finish the tasks at hand. I particularly appreciate the amazing teamwork, engaging weekly meetings, and most importantly, the immense level of respect each of the team members has for each other. At PARKER HR Solutions, I can also spend as much time honing my abilities in all facets of Human Resources while at the same time, allowing me to grow my other professional skills of presenting, relationship-building, and research writing, among many others. Through it all, I am proud to be a part of PARKER HR Solutions and I am looking forward to working with more of our diverse clients and completing fruitful projects in the future. What do you love most about your job?
As the Founder | Executive Director, I love that within my role, I am allowed the privilege of helping others to better know themselves and to truly embrace and maximize their natural talents, whilst strengthening the team, organization, and the overall culture within the organization. This is an absolute privilege and an exquisite connection I get to make with people. At the other end of the 'love most’ spectrum, I would say I am a fan of business partnerships with leaders.

What inspired you to start your own business?
In this role, I experience first-hand the complexity of supporting experienced managers who are faced with the difficulty of administering and managing certain human resource functions in their roles. As a result, I have spent the latter part of my career working to transform human resource challenges encountered by companies into opportunities for better and more efficient business services.
After living and working in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates for 10 years, I moved to Canada in 2015 where I realized the need for human resources outsourcing solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. PARKER HR Solutions’ presence in British Columbia kicked off as voluntary services to targeted audiences - to becoming a small business of choice for clients to plug into for tailor-made solutions.

Our HR Solutions are designed to enable collaborative sessions with clients online — anywhere and on any device. COVID-19 has widely and severely disrupted work from the office, PARKER HR Solutions is equipped with handling full services online and we also offer in-person services at their physical facilities, with all the necessary precautions in place.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
In the midst of these uncertain times, PARKER HR Solutions wants to do as much as we can to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) to our employees, their families, our customers, and the communities we serve. We continue to conduct business remotely and take precautionary measures to help mitigate the spread of the virus to our employees and customers by implementing the following changes:
Face-to-face contact: We have restricted face-to-face contact with clients or vendors. As a company that prides itself on building relationships, this has been a difficult change for our team - but we have proven we are up for the challenge. We are restricting face-to-face contacts while ensuring we continue to do what we love most - which is supporting our clients both online and through visits to clients' offices/facilities. For client facility visits, we ensure clients have in place personal health checks and screening procedures at their offices/facilities.
Visitors: We are restricting all non-essential visits to our offices/facilities.
