Due to the fantastic front porch, walkway, and garden work completed by Sam and his team last year, I had them return this year to do the backyard. They stripped and stained my deck, redid the garden beds, and created a beautiful stone border around the garden.
Sam was always on time completing the project when he said he would, his team were quick and efficient, and the work was flawless. Based on my needs, the project grew but quotes were quickly updated and reasonable.

Because the extensive work they completed in both my and my attached neighbour's yard was truly "Above and Beyond" anything we could have imagined. Sam's innate sense of design and incredible attention to detail - along with the management of his friendly, talented team - made for a stress-free experience and beautiful results. We hired M&S to complete a refresh of our front yard. The project involved redoing stone work up approximately 14 stairs with 3 landings, metal railings down the stairs, removing and re-mortaring and existing stone wall and levelling the yard and laying sod. Sam and his team were extremely professional during the project and left a clear area when they finished each day. The project went smoothly and Sam kept us updated at each step. Where I put was required, Sam sought it in a timely manner.

We added a few requests as the project went along and Sam was able to accommodate those in each case. We are very happy with the end result and have received many compliments from our neighbours on the overhaul of our yard. Sam has an eye for design and is attentive to detail. Sam said I would not be disappointed. He did exactly that.

I had my concerns as I had personally built my previous fence over 30 years ago and wanted a replacement that looked just as good as my earlier design and that would last at least that long again.

Sam and his team were able to provide me with a good looking fence. We will have to wait and see how it lasts, but the I know the workmanship and his attention to the details are evident to me for a good start. Together, we were able to constructively resolve the minor issues that always arise with these types of projects, such as placement of poles, realignment of the walkway pavers, accommodation of gates, and some minor defects. I was not easy on him, but he always responded professionally and constructively, which actually changed my mind on some ideas I had, which I think worked out better.

Sam left my yard looking better than I expected it would look. He went the extra distance to make it look better, such as relaying pavers that had sunk and would have been an eye sore against the new fence.

He and his crew were very tidy and cleaned up everything afterwards. They were on time every day. I personally observed Sam direct his crew and was impressed with his overall management style.

I have never had a better experience with a builder. Mr Attie is an artist with a keen eye for colour, space and function. He is very open to input and worked with me on finding the perfect design for my property. He treated my home as if it were his own, meaning he was respectful of neighbours' concerns, stored materials safely, totally cleaned up the worksite at the end of each day and at the end of the project, and put my belongings back where he found them at the start of the work. Even better, he is a clear and frequent communicator so I knew what was happening and about to happen on the project each day. He and his crew showed up when they told me they would. They were always polite and courteous. He advocated for me with his suppliers at the end of season to obtain product on a timely basis. I strongly recommend Mr. Attie and M&S and look forward to working with them again. More...
