What guarantee does your work come with?
Flexxco adheres to local building codes and warranty laws, taking responsibility for defects and construction issues. We prioritize exceptional client service and work quickly to resolve any concerns to our clients’ satisfaction. Quebec's laws on defects and contractor liability are outlined below:
(1) **1-Year Guarantee on Defects:** In Quebec, contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and technologists are jointly responsible for guaranteeing the work against defects for one year after delivery. Visible defects must be noted at delivery, while non-visible defects discovered within a year only require proof of existence, not contractor fault. After one year, the owner must prove fault and harm.
(2) **5-Year Guarantee Against Loss of Work:** Contractors, architects, engineers, and subcontractors are jointly responsible for the loss of work within five years, due to design, construction, execution defects, or soil issues. After five years, the contractor remains liable, but the owner must prove fault and damage. This guarantee cannot be excluded or shortened by contract, as it is required by the Civil Code. In summary, the contractor is liable for defects for one year and construction defects for five years.
