Enrique has truly been our saving grace! We have a 4-year-old rescue Staffy cross who can be reactive and sensitive around other dogs on leashes or behind fences, due to a negative experience at a dog park when she was a puppy. From our very first session with Enrique, we saw an incredible difference - using the Halti, our girl was able to walk calmly around the outside of a dog park with no issues at all! Since then, we’ve been attending Enrique’s weekend group sessions, and she’s now a happy regular at Pets Wonderland daycare. Having a private session with Enrique at our home was an absolute game changer! My dogs reactivity had been slowly getting worse over the last year or so and when she started to respond negatively to a family members dog who would be staying on our property for the next 6 months we knew we needed assistance sooner rather than later. Enrique came out to our property and we all went for a walk together and this walk changed everything! We learnt SO much from Enrique about how to be confident with and in control of our dog, and most importantly how to show her that the world is a safe place and she doesn’t need to step in and take control (display reactive behaviour). We have had no issues what so ever with the two dogs ever since, they have actually become friends which blows our mind everyday. Our Alaskan Malamute Ella recently formed alarming separation anxiety issues. We tried medication but to no avail then we found Enrique from Super Smart Dog Training. He gave us enormous confidence that he could fix the problem and offered lots of helpful tips over the phone to try some strategies during the "now time" before he came to our place and re-trained Ella in our home and outside. Apparently Ella decided she was going to be the boss and liked being the boss, but Enrique soon changed that. Big Thank you to Enrique for giving us some great tips and tricks on our 2 year old staffy Bolt . We adopted him from shelter 3 months ago and he was a ball of energy and very very exited on walks / bit reactive to other dogs barking . 3 months in an he has changed sooo much . He was reactive on walks to other dogs, aggressive, chewing up things in the house, barking at anything and everything, and pulling to the point I couldn’t walk him anymore. Enrique came to our home to teach us all the techniques we needed to teach our dog that the world is a safe space and we can protect him. We sent him to Enrique’s doggy day care for a week after this while we were away, and my gosh, our dog has come back a brand new dog. He listens to commands, doesn’t pull on walks and heels when we tell him too, doesn’t react to dogs or people passing by, and we haven’t heard him bark since coming home. Enrique is amazing! I did 1 private lesson with him at the beach with my very stubborn staffy who is a strong puller which makes walking very challenging. I was also anxious about her with other dogs. I've been to other dog trainers in the past who have told me my dog would need multiple lessons as she wasn't responding to training and too stubborn. I could tell Enrique was different & decided to give it a go and I wasn't disappointed. He was patient, calm & very insightful teaching me techniques without using dog treats. The results speak for themselves. My Staffy is walking slower & rarely ever pulls now. I feel more confident walking her & less anxious when around other dogs. Our trainers are skilled in teaching dogs to obey commands and behave appropriately in various situations. They have a deep understanding of canine behavior, psychology, and learning theory, and use this knowledge to develop training programs. Those programs are comprehensive and tailored to the individual needs of each dog and their owner. The trainers work closely with owners to understand their goals, lifestyle, and expectations, and develops customized training plans that are practical, effective, and achievable. They educate owners on proper handling techniques, communication cues, and strategies to reinforce desired behaviors, creating a lasting and harmonious bond between the dog and their family.
Our trainers can work with dogs of all ages and breeds, from puppies to adult dogs. They use a variety of training techniques, including positive reinforcement, clicker training, and corrective measures such as using halters, collar or leash.
But mainly, more than working with dogs, our dog trainers also work with their owners to help them understand how to reinforce positive behaviors and discourage negative ones. They often conduct one-on-one training sessions. Those classes are followed by group classes, depending on the needs of the dog and its owner.
Our trainers are patient, compassionate, and able to communicate effectively with both dogs and their owners. They have excellent observation skills and are able to read a dog's body language to identify behavioral issues and modify their training approach accordingly.
Our trainers will play an important role in helping dogs become well-behaved, happy, and healthy members of their families and communities.
Doggy day-care
Super Smart Dogs uses the doggy day-care facilities at Pets Wonderland, to help the newly trained dogs to mix with other dogs. At pets wonderland, we understand that our dogs are our family. Our Doggy Daycare has been operating on the Gold Coast since 2012, with hundreds of pooches bounding through our doors over the years.
We offer a clean, safe and fun environment for your beloved pooch to develop into a happy and well socialised member of the family.
It is our duty to ensure that your pet leaves each day happy, healthy and tired so that you can experience the benefits at home. A well-exercised dog is a well-behaved dog.
Each morning the dogs will enjoy a pack walk through park walkways along Currumbin River, using up some energy as well as learning walking behaviours. They will then join in with their fellow dogs playing in our facilities that include trampolines, play houses and toys.
When the dogs are done playing or just recharging they can rest on our off the ground frame beds for the larger dogs, and soft beds for the smaller dogs.
We have a large centre, with 2 seperate sections. One for smaller and calmer dogs, and the other for larger and higher energy dogs.
Our main focus is on safety and wellbeing both for the dogs and our staff.
