Children’s lessons

The majority of coaches and clubs offer fun tennis lessons for kids. They’re a great way for children to develop a new skill, learn techniques, and be active. You may be looking to book group lessons for younger children, or one-on-one sessions for those looking to develop their skills further. With LTA registered coaches, Bark will collect free quotes and allow you to book children’s tennis lessons near you.

Stay active

Tennis is a great way to stay active. It helps improve hand-eye coordination, agility, strength, and endurance. You don’t have to be a member of a tennis club or the LTA to get involved with tennis. Local facilities are often open to the public, and can offer both indoor and outdoor courts. Perhaps you only want to play during the summer months, or are looking to continue all year round. The important thing is that you enjoy yourself, stay active, and have fun!

Adult coaching

Perhaps you’re looking to pick up a tennis racket for the first time. Maybe you want to pick up the sport again, or develop your tennis skills further. Whatever it is you need, Bark can help you find local tennis lessons to suit you. Your professional will be able to create a program of lessons that are tailored to you. Structured programs allow you to set achievable goals and track progress. Work with your coach to perfect your cross court winner, or a more consistent second serve. Whatever it is that you’re looking to achieve, having regular lessons will provide structure and expert help, allowing you to reach your goals.

What type of lessons/classes do you offer?

At HC Tennis Coaching, we pride ourselves on being able to cater for any age or skill level. We have five coaches, enabling us to offer a range of classes and programs. Having said that, a lot of our time is spent teaching younger children or developing teenagers for more competitive matches. We’ve worked with some of our players for a number of years, so it’s great to see them continually improve and sometimes win tournaments. It’s not all about winning matches though – we believe that the development of skills is rewarding enough!

Do you have any tips for beginners?

Absolutely! First of all, enjoy yourself. People get involved in tennis because it’s a fun sport that’s really accessible. Take your time – learning a new sport is a process so don’t worry if your backhand isn’t as strong as your forehand, it’s only natural. As with most things in life, the more you put into it, the more you’ll get out of it. The great thing about tennis is that you only need one other person to play. In the UK there are loads of public courts that you can book as well!

What about different types of courts?

There are four different types of tennis courts: hard, grass, clay and carpet. However, the big tournaments that you see on TV are only played on hard courts, grass courts or clay courts. The majority of our lessons are on either hard court or carpet courts as these are widely available. If you do want to practise on a specific type of court, then let us know and we can organise this for you.
