Dolce Bakery was only a few vendors where my internet search results gave Vegan cake options. I always say if the “price is right then the product is right” & this bakery was within my budget. Cake was for a Sunday but the bakery is closed on this holy day & therefore had to pick it up the Saturday, which not an issue at all. All my guests & especially the vegan guests, rated this cake as the best vegan cake they ever tasted. The older aunts could not get their brain around how moist the cake was as no eggs & dairy was used - they didn’t believe this type of baking is possible. Another person commented that the cake was not rich in sugar & they loved it. On another note the baker kept me informed at all times from purchase through to delivery (pick up). I even got a courtesy email on the Sunday night to find out if I was happy with the cake? This is excellent customer service but more importantly I know the feeling when you put your heart into making food & eager to hear the food reviews (good or bad). I looooove this place. I like the vegan options. the carrot cake is to die for. The gluten free base option for the pizzas is amazing. Yho! Definitely one of my favourite places in Cape Town. I don't care much for the milkshakes, their taste is just weird for my liking, I will be sticking to the coffee or the sugar free smoothies, definitely in future. Otherwise took my friend and she enjoyed the set up too. We even stayed behind at the outside tables long after the staff/owners had left on Saturday. I've spent 8 years baking all my own goodies because I've never found a place in Cape Town that made decent vegan goods (if at all! !). Well, I am forever changed since finding Dolce Bakery. Their vegan baked goods are DELICIOUS and boy do they give you a decent portion. I'm a heavy handed girl myself when I dish a sweet treat so to my delight the portions were enormous :):) And for the price they charge at that size...what a BARGAIN! Not only are the baked goods delicious and generous, the staff are so friendly! I was helped to my car with all my boxes, there were friendly smiles and a real sense of urgency to help. Lovely. Not to mention the marvellousness of the owner, Russell. He responded to a Facebook message inquiry I posted on a Sunday night...almost immediately! A Sunday night? Yup. He did.
