What kind of accounting services do you provide?
I provide full service accounting, from capturing of invoices and working with bank statements all the way to building an account tree and production financials including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, equity statement and notes to the financial statements

What do you love most about your job?
Learning about the business that I am working on. Financials and financial detail tells a story of the everyday goings on of that business and it can be quite interesting. But I also love learning about the stories of the owners of the business and how they got to where they are. I think business owners are inspirational because they are not just following the same pattern as we are taught of getting a degree and finding a job, but htey are looking for more out of life, more flexibility, more impact and more life.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have almost always been interested in entrepreneurship, ever since a friend of mine gave me a book on franchising in grade 5, I have been wanting to work for myself. I also happen to have married into a family where the parents work an accounting business of their own and I honestly love the level of control they have over their lives, they've made it out of the 'rat race'. And of course, I love understanding how different businesses work and while my previous job as an auditor in the US and Australia allowed me to do that and paid well, I was getting bigger and bigger clients, whose story had already been discovered by another colleague and so there was no element of discovery, of curiosity as to how the business worked and where I thought they could optimize certain processes.

I have a wealth of experience working with really small organizations in Pinetown KZN, somewhat larger ones in Pietermaritzburg and companies listed on the JSE. Ive worked on malls, luxury car dealerships. Ive worked on companies listed on the Australian stock exchange, a company that pretty much ran all the Defence, Social and infrastructure contracts in Australia. Ive worked in New york with companies listed on that exchange, large ticket booking services that you've probably used. I think that kind of experience gives me the ability to quickly change my approach in order to accommodate any client regardless of their needs.

Of Course i can provide services online. I was only in my second year of training when covid struck and so I have pretty much grown in my career working remotely with various teams and we made it work. At the same time, I do have an appreciation for working in person, so i am extremely flexible.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I work freely over the phone or over zoom or other video platforms. I am happy to meet in public well ventilated spaces while wearing a mask to ensure the safely of you and your close family.
Accounting/ Book Keeping
Accounting/ bookkeeping service entails the full service from capturing of your business invoices all the way to producing a full set of financial statements according to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles applied in RSA, which means in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards.
Company Income Tax
Company Income Tax service includes preparation of income tax returns, including the calculation of income tax for the submission. Application of all relevant and appropriate deductions and allowances to ensure that you pay the minimum tax for your applicable business circumstances
Personal Income Tax
For the individual who receives income from more than one source, that has not had PAYE withheld for them, or from investments which have not withheld taxes. I use all the relevant information provided by you on your taxable transactions and apply all applicable deductions to ensure you pay the least tax applicable to your cisrcumstances.
Expat Income Taxes
SARS levies taxes on all residents of RSA's worldwide income, therefore if you have investments overseas, or have worked overseas for a period of time and earned an income, I can assist you from my first hand knowledge of preparing and submitting tax returns to SARS. And as a boast, I have always managed to structure my taxes to ensure that I pay zero income tax to SARS while staying tax compliant.
Business Advisory
Business Advisory entails multiple courses. What I offer is advice on business controls for the growing business; Buy VS lease valuation and decision making assistance for the owner considering buying vs leasing a piece of machinery for example; Technical Accounting assistance, for the business owner who has a staff accountant but needs assistance implementing an accounting standard that is complicated, or understanding how to account for a complicated business transaction; management accounting services for the business owner that requires insight into his business performance, or looking to understand what pricing to charge to ensure a profit, how many units to sell to break even and cash flow. These are some examples of this wide reaching service line, and a consultation is recommended for me to understand your needs and best assist you.
