She has exceptional attention to detail and a passion for delivering projects on time. Her effective problem-solving skills allowed for the completion of the project with minimal supervision. More...
Describe your creative process.
1. Preparation. After connecting with my client and absorbing as much information as I can whilst taking the time to understand their expectations for the final product, I will then work out the time needed for research and design.
2. Incubation. I allow myself a short time to immerse myself in a creative mindset to get inspired. In this stage, I have the idea, but i'm just giving it some steam and energy in order for it to fully materialize.
3. Insight. This is the light bulb moment. This is the time when the puzzle of an idea has come together and there’s no stopping its influence from coming out in creativity.
4. Implementation. This is when the idea has gone down on paper – in short, this is the “final product” stage of the creativity process.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
First, it’s important to talk about how we both prefer to communicate. Whatsapp, email, zoom or phone calls. I would like to know what the client's budget is and in return I will be clear about what’s possible or what’s not. I will ask as many questions as I need to try and understand exactly what the client requires in order to manage expectations and ensure that no one is disappointed.
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about being a graphic designer is that I get to create. I have learnt how to listen and in return help businesses get noticed and thrive. Every day is unique and I enjoy helping people bring their ideas to visual reality. Graphic design is always evolving and is a great career for staying youthful.
What inspired you to start your own business?
A friend advised me to do what I'm good at, do what is easy for me and do what I love. The freedom of creative expression is what drives me and I think in doing so I find true happiness.
Why should our clients choose you?
The market is flooded with talented graphic designers. While we are all very capable, we are not necessarily all the same. Design skill is only one piece of a larger puzzle. The ability to strategically apply that talent is where the difference lies. I have a diverse work experience of over 20 years, and I have worked for design studios as well as with in-house corporate communication teams. My portfolio shows a broad variety of work for a wide range of industries. As I am an experienced designer, I therefore need less direction, I work efficiently and I am more attuned to the best design practices.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I can provide my services online and remotely as I am very comfortable taking a brief either over the phone or by a well-written email. I have my own laptop and great uncapped wifi connectivity.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
To keep safe from COVID-19 I use online services to connect with my clients. I am flexible and usually let my client decide how they would prefer to communicate.
Brand Design
To stand out among the crowd, your company needs to be unique and recognizable by customers. My goal is to create a powerful brand identity that customers associate with a high level of credibility and quality. To effectively understand your business goals, part of my process is to dive deep into the market by researching your target audience. The design of the logo and fonts play a big part in branding and a well-thought-out logo will need time invested. When the logo is ready, the color palette is chosen and other visual elements are prepared and then it’s time to unite them into a harmonic corporate style.
Print Design
Design thinking is a process for creative problem-solving. By casting aside all assumptions I objectively consider any and all possibilities about your needs. Collecting as many ideas as possible I begin the ideation stage which marks the transition from identifying problems to exploring solutions. My goal is to give you 3 design options to consider and once you have made a choice I then move onto the final stages of refining and tweaking the design for final approval.
Brochure Design
The key to creating an amazing brochure starts by getting to know you, the client. My goal is to define your message correctly whilst keeping your brand identity look and feel consistent throughout the brochure. Copy and images need to be ready before I begin putting pen to paper and creating a design. Once the brochure is designed I then take time to evaluate the final product, making necessary changes and getting the design right before final approval
Flyer and Leaflet Design
A creative and well-designed flyer or leaflet can help your brand stand out against competitors. It must have a strong design that grabs the reader’s attention, presents the information clearly and keeps them interested. Language is a powerful tool. The right copy can be the difference between a sale and a fail. An image says 1000 words so perhaps an eye-catching visual is more effective than 500 words of copy. My goal is to get your message across in as short a way as possible ensuring your best chance of a successful campaign.
Logo Design
Evaluating a brand is one of the first steps in the logo design process. The next is to research what kind of logos your competitors and industry leaders have. After brainstorming some ideas I then bring them to life on the page in order to give you at least 3 different options. Once you’ve settled on your preferred concept, I begin making variations on it, adding or removing elements, changing minor details, and beginning typography explorations. My goal is to communicate your vision of the brand with a persuasive, knockout logo presentation whereby you choose final option. Getting feedback and useful constructive criticism is encouraged at this stage to ensure the logo reaches its full potential before final approval.
PowerPoint Presentations
The principles of design are behind a great PowerPoint presentation. Visual hierarchy refers to the arrangement of elements in a way that implies importance. The theory of visual hierarchy helps me define the structure of PowerPoint design slides. Good visual hierarchy assures that the right elements are catching your attention. I achieve visual hierarchy by using contrasting colours to make certain elements stand out more, as well as playing with the size of text or photos to make something stand out more than something else. One of the most effective presentation design tricks is the idea that less is more, therefore allowing the design and content to breathe. The right choice of typography can really improve the design of a PowerPoint presentation, good fonts are invisible, but bad typography choices are noticed straight away. When it comes to colour use, I recommend sticking to brand colours instead of experimenting. If a client feels a little more daring, trying complementary and contrasting colours works well too. Photography is the easiest way to improve a PowerPoint presentation. A simple trick to improve the design of your presentation is to use high-quality stock photography.
Menu Design
In the restaurant industry, having a well-designed menu that is carefully laid out and planned is a must. Your menu is the main tool that drives sales to your business. It's important that you choose a style that reflects your business's concept and appeals to your customers. There are many specific design elements that go into styling a menu, such as font, images, and colors, and they allow you to give your menu a personality and character.
