Axio Projects

I regret having ever met with the owner of Axio Projects. He lured us in with his charisma and claims of shared beliefs which all just turned out to be a trick to get our business.

Our renovations were and continue to be a disaster. Axio projects uses inferior products, unskilled labour and embodies the saying “jack of all trades, master of none”.

We are currently unable to get an occupancy certificate from the municipality as the electrical, plumbing and gas installations, all done by Axio Projects, are not compliant. We have reports from other, legitimate contractors proving this and are met with silence when requested certificates of compliance from Axio’s owner.

We have been living in our home for less than 10 months and have endless issues including tiles popping off the walls, damp bubbling the paint in our guest bathroom, laundry and garage, arching electrical work in the roof, cracks in the ceilings and cornices, a huge stain on the kitchen ceiling from a leak caused by a non-compliant plumbing join in the roof, kitchen cupboards falling off, not closing due to poor quality hinges, cracked pavers everywhere as they used a spec that was thinner than standard, a front boundary wall bubbling and falling apart as they used cretestone on an exterior wall to avoid plastering. Sadly the list just goes on and on…

We refused to pay the final invoice, as the owner inflated it by over 200% for fictional “additional works” and had not tended to the extensive snags list and the owner responded with threats of malicious damage to tear down our property to the point where we needed to get the police involved as my family feared for their safety. Extremely traumatic for me and my young children.

We are now in court over the matter, with mounting costs and no end in sight.

A truly disappointing experience. Months over deadline and way over budget with the bulk of the excess in “additional work” that has no quotes or much less the go ahead to complete. The owner behaved like a thug and rather than complete the work per his contract, he resorts to threats and intimidation - we were even forced to get the police involved.
