What do you love most about your job?
For me, it has always been about the people.
I enjoy working with business owners and leaders to solve people problems that can otherwise take up a lot of their time and energy. Sometimes that is helping them through a difficult employment matter. Other times it is finding the right person for their team, improving an HR process or simply making sure payroll runs as it should.
I also enjoy seeing our own team grow and the relationships we build with our clients.
Some of our best client relationships have developed because we have become part of how their organisation operates rather than simply being an external provider they contact when something goes wrong.
That is what I enjoy most about what we do at Konnect Koncepts. We work alongside our clients and help them look after their people and their business.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started Konnect Koncepts in 2015 because I could see that many small and medium-sized businesses needed good HR and recruitment support but couldn't justify employing their own internal team.
I also believed there was a different way to provide that support.
I wanted to build a business where clients could access experienced people when they needed them, receive practical advice and know the people supporting them actually understood their organisation.
That idea has grown considerably since then.
Today, Konnect Koncepts provides HR, Recruitment and Payroll services, either individually or together as an outsourced people solution.
What hasn't changed is why we exist. We want businesses to have access to the people support they need without having to build every capability internally.

We help put practical processes, documentation and systems around your people function. That can range from employment documentation and payroll through to recruitment, employee relations and organisational change.

You can use us for a one-off project, ongoing support or outsource HR, Recruitment and Payroll together. As your needs change, the support we provide can change with you.
We also don't believe every client needs the same solution. A business with eight employees has different needs from an organisation with 80 or 200.

Yes. We support clients throughout New Zealand and much of our HR, Recruitment and Payroll work can be delivered remotely.
Our team uses Microsoft Teams, Monday.com and secure cloud-based systems to communicate, manage work and maintain regular contact with our clients.
Remote doesn't mean disconnected.
Depending on the engagement and your location, our team can also work onsite, attend meetings and hui, support interviews or employment processes in person, and provide a combination of onsite and remote support.
Some of our ongoing HR plans include allocated onsite support, while other clients prefer to work with us completely remotely.
We agree how we will work together at the start of the engagement so you know who is supporting you, how to contact us and what to expect.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Our systems and ways of working allow us to provide HR, Recruitment and Payroll services remotely when required.
Where we work onsite with a client, our team follows the health, safety and workplace requirements applying at that location.
This gives our clients the flexibility to move between remote and onsite support when circumstances require it, without disrupting the service we provide.

Konnect Koncepts provides outsourced HR support to businesses and organisations across New Zealand. We can become your ongoing HR partner or step in when you need help with a specific people matter.
Our support includes employment agreements and HR documentation, policies and procedures, employee relations, performance and disciplinary matters, restructures and change processes, onboarding and offboarding, remuneration reviews, HR compliance and day-to-day advice for managers.
Our HR plans provide a set level of support each month, with options designed around the size and needs of your organisation. We can work remotely, onsite or through a combination of both.

Outsourced Payroll | KonnectPAY
Payroll needs to be accurate, on time and properly managed every pay cycle.
KonnectPAY provides outsourced payroll services for New Zealand businesses that want payroll managed without relying on an internal payroll resource.
We manage regular payroll processing along with new starters, employee changes, deductions, leave, KiwiSaver, terminations, payroll reporting and other payroll administration.
Our payroll processes include checks and client approval before payroll is finalised, providing clear oversight while we manage the processing.
We can support businesses with only a few employees through to organisations with larger and more complex workforces.
Because Konnect Koncepts also provides HR services, our payroll team can work alongside our HR team when employment changes affect payroll. This reduces the disconnect that can occur when HR and payroll are managed separately.
