Finan is an excellent designer. He rebranded our company, thecleaningcompany.ie, from start to finish and designed everything from the logo, business cards and leaflets to our new van wrap. He took what we roughly described to him on napkin drawings and transformed it into something we are delighted with and more than we ever expected. Clean and minimalist but very powerful. 5 stars on all counts. Thanks again Finan. More...

Finan is a high-quality graphic designer, very expert in digital and non-digital. He can capture and turn the company's narrative and strategy into excellent and relevant design, which is a scarce and very valuable skills combination to bring to a business.

Q&As

It is vitally important that your website is visually & verbally consistent with your brand identity and messaging. This consistency builds trust and credibility, two things that researchers have proved are crucial to the longevity of your brand.

However, all of this goes to waste if your customers and/or clients can’t seamlessly navigate your site from point A to point B. I design websites that not only act as an extension of your brand, but also allow for your customer/client base to get what they need from your site as seamlessly as possible.

In the research discovery phase, Initially, I try to find out as much as possible from my clients. So I’m asking questions like:

What are the motivations for this particular project?
Why is now the time to do it?
What are your concerns for the project?
Who is your target audience?
Who are your competitors?
How can we measure the success of the project?

When I have all the information I need from my client, I begin my ethnographic research. What I’m looking to do here is frame the problem, and give it some context. I’m trying to get to know the people I’m designing for and the issues I’m designing around.

Naturally the process differs depending on the job, the budget, and the timeline, but generally there are five stages I follow in my process. The stages are:

1. Research & Discovery Phase

Whenever possible, I think it is vitally important that research should inform the brief, before informing the solution.

In the research discovery phase, Initially, I try to find out as much as possible from my clients. So I’m asking questions like:

What are the motivations for this particular project?
Why is now the time to do it?

2. Design Brief

The outcome of the research & discovery phase provides a framework that acts as a touchstone that ensures all of the creative and aesthetic decisions I make are being made objectively. In the design brief stage, I will write up a short document that articulates this framework and the research findings that inform it. This document will be used as a guideline throughout the rest of the design process.

3. Prototyping & Design Testing

The audience and or user for one project is likely to be different than the audience and/or user for another.

In order to gauge what will work and what won’t work for any particular project, it’s important in the prototyping stage to create a number of design options that have been built on the framework determined by our research findings.

Initially, I will present these options to you, the client for feedback, before entering the design testing stage where I will survey members of your target demographic to see which option, if any, is having the intended impact or effect.

4. Revisions

In the revisions stage, I review the client feedback and the survey findings and make revisions based on this to the most successful design directions. If the budget and or timeline allows, these revisions will be submitted for a second round of feedback before we get to the implementation stage.

5. Implementation

The final stage is the implementation stage, where I finalise the design solutions and roll it out to the necessary touchpoints.

1. Timeline Information
2. Budgetary Information
3. Information on Project Scope
4. Information on Project Scale
5. Background Information

I design brand identities, and websites that are built on a framework determined by strategic market research & analysis unique to each job. This research and analysis allows him to make informed decisions about how your business' visual identity should be realised so that it optimises your chances of success.

Yes, all of my services are available for remote hire. I am available for virtual meetings through the likes of Zoom or Teams, and am flexible with my time in order to meet my clients' needs.

Services

In order for a customer to buy from your brand, they must first trust your brand. This makes building the right brand identity increasingly important.

Branding is about trying to shape the perceptions of your target audience, and you won’t be able to shape their perceptions with a logo or a brand identity that wasn’t designed with them as the focal point for communication.

Finán Callaghan helps businesses attract new customers and retain current clients by creating professional, credible, and trustworthy brand identity design. Finán designs thoughtfully crafted brand identities, constructed strategically to resonate with your target audience, and stand out from your competitors.

Finán Callaghan designs thoughtfully crafted, engaging websites that are constructed with seamless user experience at the focal point of the decision-making process. Finán designs websites that are consistent with your unique brand message & visual identity and strives to further engage your target audience.

This combination of positive user experience, and brand consistency enhances your brand’s credibility and helps you to attract and/or retain your ideal customer base.
