Capturing the connection and emotion between dogs and humans is really precious to me and it shows the bond that exists between the two.

From his first email response to a follow up phone call, the shoot itself and now seeing the results I could not recommend Chris enough. He offered to come to us at Bert and Ernie’s favourite place which made it all the more special for us. He just gets it! He gets what a dog means to their family and captures this in his photos in a way that words simply cannot describe. I know we will cherish our memories and the moments he generously and skillfully captured for us forever and ever especially when our boys are no longer with us. We would fully recommend Canines of Cork as a photographer for any club trials, competitions, test, or any event. We already know Chris's photography skills are excellent so we asked him down for our good citizen test day and not once would anybody have noticed Chris there bar the camera. Obviously a complete give away. Not one dog was disturbed by a photographer being present as Chris never got too close to any of the working dogs, never got in the way, and we copped at one point was moving from each position when he knew what a dog was needed to do next, without ever having to be asked. Such a pleasure to have up. Thank you Chris for capturing our club dogs and guests as they went through a very important pet title for them and their dogs, some it was for the first time. I'm sure the photos will be some kept high on the wall for a lifetime to come. More...

You will never need another photo of your dog, and no photo you take will ever compare. Absolutely fantastic. we got Chris down for a photoshoot with our 7 seven dogs and due to distance I asked a few clients to come too. Everyone was over the moon. From how the dogs were treated, to the quality and beauty from the photos. One of the clients has a boxer and the main point brought back was she was so thankful the dog wasn't wound up when he met Chris, as he was greeted calmly, this meant that the photoshoot could go a lot smoother. I myself have a crazy dog, and I do tend to panic. Chris was so good with him even when he went a bit loopy. Very respectful of me and my dogs and caught my two youngest boys so perfectly in the photos. Both boys have quite a quiet yet strong personality at times, I was worried wouldn't quite be captured, but in all photos, there was no need to worry as their whole energy was captured and in each photo I can see them perfectly. Chris was able to see when my shepherd was a bit cautious of him and he would check in throughout to see if he was still happy with how close he was etc I would recommend Chris to anybody with a dog. So respectful, kind, understanding, and a clear eye on what will go well with each dog. More...

What do you love most about your job?
Capturing connection. Connection, whether human to human or human to animal is what drives us every day. I consider it a privilege being able to capture these moments of intimate connection and have my customers keep that moment in a photo. There is nothing more rewarding than this.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Time, getting older, and reflecting on what I want to do and who I want to be. I've always had a camera for as long as I can think and loved taking photos. It took me living with a friend of mine and her border collie, the pandemic, and me making a conscious choice to invest in a professional camera and being vulnerable by putting myself out there with my craft. I haven't looked back since and it has been a really rewarding journey so far.
Why should our clients choose you?
Every photographer can take a photo of a dog but few only take photos of dogs. The rules in dog photography are different from shooting weddings, events, commercials. I have really focussed on dog photography, all of my friends and business customers have/work with dogs and I keep learning about them and their behaviour.
I put a lot of focus on me being patient and having empathy for my clients and their situations since everyone's situation is unique. May that be a typical portrait shoot, or an end of life shoot with a senior dog, my focus is always my client and their dog. I am trying to create memories with my clients and their dogs that they get to keep and cherish.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I only work on location with my clients. The location is usually planned in advance with the client. I always have some locations in mind that I know work well. At the same time I am happy to explore new locations especially if that is requested by a customer since some have amazing locations nearby that I haven't been to yet. I can make most locations work, it all depends on the light on the day really. Talk to me about a location that really inspires or fascinates you and I'll be happy to chat about your plans for it!
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I am happy to work with my customers on any concerns they have regarding Covid-19. I am fully vaccinated and happy to make the experience as safe as possible for my clients i.e. wearing a mask. Talk to me about any requests you have please.
1 hour photoshoot
Full photoshoot which will include 7 digital high res images to be delivered in a private gallery, with the option to purchase additional digitals.
Canvas and print options can also be ordered from the website directly.
Includes a pre shoot consultation over phone/video call.
End of life shoot
For senior dogs with a diagnosis where you’d like to make some last minute precious memories.
Since you cannot put a price on life, I am doing these for a donation amount of your choice.
